This week's challenge scared me a little. It looked as beautiful a photograph as it was complicated. I spent several times looking for ideas and inspiration. From the original photo, I really liked the complicated latticework of the buildings in the background, merging with the dock and boats. I thought about doing some photo overexposure work, which always looks very striking. But, as I finished correcting the original photograph a bit, adding some highlights and shadows to improve the exposure, I came up with a new idea: What if I made up a story? Thus, my idea mutated completely to reflect the story I will tell you below.
El reto de esta semana me asustó un poco. Se veía una fotografía tan hermosa como complicada. Dediqué varias veces tiempo en busca de ideas e inspiración. De la foto original, me gustaba mucho el complicado entramado de los edificios al fondo, fusionándose con el muelle y los barcos. Pensé en hacer un trabajo de sobreexposición de fotografías, que siempre se ve muy llamativo. Pero, al terminar de corregir un poco la fotografía original, agregando unas luces y sombras para mejorar la exposición, se me ocurrió una nueva idea: ¿Y si me invento una historia? In the year 3034, a young photojournalist was doing an outdoor shoot on the docks of his planet's second moon. It was the ideal place to use his latest acquisition, an antique camera from the last millennium that had been restored but no one was using anymore. As he looked through the camera's viewfinder, he noticed to his surprise that the tide level was rising considerably and a tentacled sea creature was emerging from the depths and beginning to tear apart everything in its path. Without thinking, he pressed the shutter button and captured the moment. Years later, he would write on the back of his winning photograph: "The day the octopus learned to park".

Many times we don't know how our plans can change or we get scared of change. But maybe it's time to let your ideas do a 180, change what was planned or push the button to get that winning photo. Learn from both the good things and the bad, don't be afraid to fail along the way.
