Es sobre cómo manejas, no hacia donde vas. - Noah Shpancer ---- --- Cuando se está enfermo durante mucho tiempo, todas las cosas se amoldan a nuestra enfermedad. Eventualmente el cuerpo, la mente y nuestras emociones toman su forma, se adaptan para poder soportar el viaje. Pero por suerte a veces los viajes terminan y llegas a buen puerto. Un lugar nuevo. Y te das cuenta que de repente tienes la capacidad de cambiar muchas cosas que considerabas normales. ## Cuerpo La depresión y la ansiedad suprimen el cuerpo. Lo drenan de su energía porque por algún motivo te ves en la incapacidad de utilizarlo. Como tus emociones son principalmente negativas el cuerpo obtiene la directriz de dejar de moverse. ¿Para qué hacerlo si no tienes emoción, ni pasión por nada? Antes de que te des cuenta estarás todo el día acostado. Me he dado cuenta por mi experiencia que estar en horizontal mucho tiempo cansa de manera adicional. Probablemente porque es una posición que utilizamos para ir más allá. O como le digo yo cariñosamente, viajar en el tiempo. Cuando no sentimos nada más que tristeza, odio o impotencia, eso es lo que queremos. Adelantar el tiempo hasta que lleguen tiempos mejores. Hoy, me doy cuenta que puedo moverme más. Si debo descansar, salvo que mis músculos estén cansados intento sentarme con las piernas cruzadas con la columna derecha. He notado que eso hace la diferencia, a pesar de que los músculos de mi espalda, en tanto desuso por aquella falta de mis ganas de vivir, duelen, porque están retomando su función primordial. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmNTLvoWbfXBL8e38awdiBP5f5XUczz1pjsCojMz4VGM7W/whatsapp_image_2023_08_20_at_11.37.40_pm.jpeg) ## Emoción Un cuerpo desequilibrado es también síntoma de emociones desequilibradas. Se ha relacionado la depresión y la ansiedad con un exceso de dependencia emocional de la vida. ¿Qué es eso?: Esperar a que todo sea más emocionante de lo que debería. No estoy hablando de felicidad, sino de estimulación. Mientras más efectos especiales tenga la vida, más nos permitimos disfrutarla. La ansiedad y la depresión siguen a ese desequilibrio porque la mayor y verdadera parte de la vida se basa en el balance, cosa que es inmensamente aburrida cuando eres adicto a los estímulos. Si alguien te parece feo, usas tu mente para hacerlo todavía más feo... solo porque así es más divertido. Queriendo que la vida se vuelva una película con héroes, dragones y princesas, terminamos haciendo todo lo contrario. Nada. Porque nos quedamos esperando a que algo emocionante nos llame. Hoy me doy cuenta que le estaba exigiendo demasiado a la vida, a las personas, a mí mismo. Dejando ir el exceso de estímulo, de placer, estoy tratando de disfrutar la vida tal cual es y noto con cada día que puedo comprenderla mejor. No puedes amar nada que adornes con tu mente para escapar de lo que lleva debajo de todos tus excesos. Uno puede desviarse del balance, pero este se queda allí. La mayor parte del mundo está en desbalance, así que enfermamos y pensamos que es perfectamente normal. ## Mente Vas al pasado en busca de momentos emocionantes; los que te pusieron más triste o más feliz. Ansías poder tocar esos instantes donde amaste tanto que sentiste algo al perderlo, algo diferente, algo especial. Vas al futuro en busca del terror. Observa la estimulación que eso te causa. Nota como tu mente, sincronizada con la ansiedad en tu pecho busca y rebusca miles de razones y escenarios para mantenerla. Equívocadamente, solía ponerme a debatir, pelear conmigo mismo o peor todavía, preparando mis respuestas para las luchas que pudieran surgir. Hasta que me di cuenta que el 99% de las veces nunca ocurría nada. Cuando llegaba al momento que tanto temía, como hablar de mis propios sentimientos, ya estaba absolutamente cansado de barajear pésimos desenlaces. Hay quien diría que eso es prepararse. No tendrías nada de qué quejarte en tú vida si tu energía fuese ilimitada. Conforme se nos va acabando comenzamos a buscar culpables sobre por qué las cosas no se hacen más rápido. Cuando tienes energía física, emocional o mental no necesitas forzarte a nada (que por cierto termina por cansarte el doble), pero como no es así comienzas a pelear con los demás. Esto lo sabía bien cuando estaba en los peores momentos de mi ansiedad y de mi depresión. Por fuera, las personas veían que hacía muy poco, solo para recostarme absolutamente agotado. Incluso para mí esa parecía ser la realidad. La verdad es que ese poco que hacía era yo dando lo mejor de mí ese día. Entonces noté esto: ## Todas las personas hacen lo que pueden con lo que tienen. Hacen cosas diferentes cuando eso cambia. Podemos sentarnos a juzgarnos al prójimo todo el día. Muchas veces en ese tipo de conversaciones mi mirada es un poco sombría. Yo sé lo que es tener un cuerpo sin energía y por eso entiendo que a veces las personas no hacen lo que se espera de ellas por razones mucho más profundas de lo que la gente imagina. Conforme he mejorado, menos juzgo. Tal vez porque he llegado a perdonarme más a mí mismo. Un gusto compartir esta tarde contigo, hermoso lector. Eventually the body, mind and our emotions take their shape, adapt to be able to withstand the journey. But luckily sometimes journeys end and you reach a safe haven. A new place. And you realize that suddenly you have the ability to change many things that you considered normal. ## Body Depression and anxiety suppress the body. They drain it of its energy because for some reason you find yourself unable to use it. Since your emotions are mainly negative, the body gets the directive to stop moving. Why do it if you have no emotion or passion for anything? Before you know it you will be lying down all day. I have realized from my experience that being horizontal for a long time is additionally tiring. Probably because it is a position that we use to go further. Or as I affectionately call it, time travel. When we feel nothing but sadness, hate, or helplessness, that's what we want. Fast forward time until better times come. Today, I realize that I can move more. If I must rest, unless my muscles are tired I try to sit with my legs crossed with my spine straight. Depression and anxiety have been linked to an excess of emotional dependence on life. What do I mean by this?: Waiting for everything to be more exciting than it should be. I'm not talking about happiness, but about stimulation. The more special effects life has, the more we allow ourselves to enjoy it. Anxiety and depression follow that imbalance because most of life is truly about balance, which is immensely boring when you are addicted to stimulation. If someone looks ugly to you, you use your mind to make them even uglier... just because it's more stimulating that way. Wanting life to become a movie with heroes, dragons and princesses, we end up doing the opposite. Nothing. Because we keep waiting for something exciting to call us. Today I realize that I was demanding too much from life, from people, from myself. Letting go of the excess of stimulation, of pleasure, I am trying to enjoy life as it is and I notice with each day that I can understand it better. You cannot love anything that you adorn with your mind to escape from what lies beneath all your excesses. One can deviate from the balance, but it stays there. Most of the world is out of balance, so we get sick and think it's perfectly normal. ## Mind You go to the past in search of exciting moments; the ones that made you saddest or happiest. You long to be able to touch those moments where you loved so much that you felt something when you lost it, something different, something special. You go to the future in search of terror. Observe the stimulation that this causes you. Notice how your mind, synchronized with the anxiety in your chest, searches and searches for thousands of reasons and scenarios to maintain it. Mistakenly, I used to debate, fight with myself or worse, prepare my responses for the fights that might arise. Until I realized that 99% of the time nothing ever happened. When it came to the moment that I feared so much, like talking about my own feelings, I was already absolutely tired of considering bad outcomes. There are those who would say that this is preparing. When you have physical, emotional or mental energy you don't need to force yourself to do anything (which by the way ends up tiring you twice as much), but since you don't, you start fighting with others. I knew this well when I was in the worst moments of my anxiety and depression. On the outside, people saw that I did very little, only to lie down absolutely exhausted. Even for me that seemed to be the reality. The truth is, that little bit I did was me giving my best that day. Then I noticed this: ## All people do what they can with what they have. They do different things when that changes. We can sit and judge each other all day. Many times in these types of conversations my gaze is a little gloomy. I know what it is like to have a body without energy and that is why I understand that sometimes people do not do what is expected of them for reasons much deeper than what people imagine.
