🚲📝🌎Crónica: La inevitable Corianidad / Un paseo en bicicleta. 📝🏜🌎 Chronicle: The inevitable Corianity / A bike ride.🚲📝🌎

Regards, Hiveblog community.

I admit that I do not usually make an effort in which photos or which images the text will carry, and well, today I went out to take new photos to give them a better "context" of the chronicle I wrote, and well, the adventure happened (I will tell you about them in another post ).

To give you just a snack I will tell you that I had not fallen off a bicycle for 8 years, and well, this time even a dog came to greet me and give me moral support.

How to write a chronicle? Is there a unique style for this genre that slides between literature and journalism? They have really been questions that have urged me since my stay in Coro, because this city is characterized by having its name and turning it into an attitude of life called "corianity." How can corianity be understood, better yet, how to feel it?

In order not to go too far, to find out about Coro you just have to be near a coriano, just be at a downtown stop, in the middle of Av. Manaure and listen to two gentlemen chatting, wondering why there are no longer gatherings as before, and now they are called "conversatories", enthusiastic gentlemen who are an example of Corianity.

Being anecdotal before any reflection. Right there was Dr. Secundino Urbina, who from afar and seen from his name on the covers of the books seemed to me a very serious man, until I was transported to the 70s and so many where Dr. unsuspecting and unconscious in the middle of the public and began to walk until he realized the fact and used to run looking for his espadrilles.

Thus, the Coriano jumps from anecdote to anecdote, longing for his Choir, missing the people who earned their appreciation through their active lives ... The true Coriano knows how to tell his Choir, it is enough for me to read them to be able to relive each anecdote, as happens with Rafael José Álvarez, Eudes Navas Soto, Tito Guerra… Each one has created his own style, for this reason I perceive the chronicle as an ideal genre to tell the city, its situations, its everlasting places, from mischief, the count, or the protest.

It even happens that we can meet people who feel Corian, Anthony Alvarado for example, it is also said that he is a "Coriano from Paraguaná", he mentioned it because I feel identified, given my comings and goings in this city where I have spent four important years, even decisive for me because I have been getting involved with the city and its constantly remembered characters in one of the most touristic places in Venezuela.

In Coro there are motives for poetic exaltation, among them, the dunes, that arid, seductive landscape. However, how many Corians know how this natural monument has been transformed in these four years?
Due to my life as a student, I have been able to witness how the dunes exert their irrepressible natural force and how man tries to combat it from a “plan” to keep the road running.

.

I have witnessed in these years, how the dunes have been burying the road in the direction of Punto Fijo and how the incompetence of government entities to solve such a basic problem has gone without rhyme or improvisation, inconsistent.

Since 2015 the problem became latent, and since then machines began to be used to move the sand to make way, the logical thing was to carry out this management on rainy days when the sand was wet to facilitate the work, however, it was opted for working on sunny and windy days, resulting in ... The work was in vain. Since that year the same strategy - "solution" has been implemented.

Now after three years, the road has been completely closed, according to what they tell me, because it is likely that the media will not even review the news and only people who, like me, travel constantly know it ... It is common to hear passengers say between complaints, "smart" workarounds, like tunneling or bridging ...

Some time ago a man told me that a few presidential terms ago, the project to build a tunnel was proposed and because the dunes are a national park and there are valuable plant species, the realization of this project was prohibited, therefore, perhaps the solution is a constant (and clearly normal) maintenance of such a busy and necessary road that connects both cities, and one of the most touristic places in Venezuela.
