Rogue - (Movie Review and Thoughts)

Hey guys. So here's a review one of 2020's most talked about movie, Rogue. Well, this movie had almost the same plot as the Chris Hemsworth's movie "Extraction" but had a twitch which was the fact that wild animals (lions to be exact) were introduced in the movie. This made the movie seem different in a way and much more anticipated when it's trailer was released.

The movie involved a group of mercenaries whose mission was to save a girl who was kidnapped by the Al-Shabab terrorist group in Africa. They extracted the girl successfully alongside two of her other school mates but we're faced with the problem of no communication and loss of their helicopter which were both necessary for extraction. The team fled to a nearby lion farm that had been abandoned and had to stay for shelter and make plans on how to leave. Unknown to them, there were killer lions lurking around which ended up taking out some of the mercenaries as well as the terrorists looking for them one after the other.

Now firstly, the movie was packed with loads of action but fans were disappointed with the fact that the actors from the mercenary's side weren't as full of action as expected. I personally felt Megan Foxx wasn't the best female actress for this role (I thought Kate Beckinsale from "The Underworld" or Milla Jovovich from "Resident Evil" would have done a better job).

Next, the lions were obviously CGI created and seemed very unreal in some scenes. They did great with the effects in the beginning, but as the movie got close to it's end, the effects seemed poor and the killer lions weren't as scary as they ought to be. But the make up and blood from the actions of the lions seemed real and fantastic.

Generally, I think the movie wasn't so bad, I'd give it a 7/10. The main message I think the creators of the movie wanted to share was that poaching was wrong and they stood against it. I support that too.

So if you're a fan of action with a little bit of horror and blood, then you might wanna check out this movie.
