Following the first lockdown, it was undoubtedly the time to go a bit further than your usual four walls. We did not think twice before opting for Malvern Hills. After all, it was only an hour drive. Set on the road, we were full of expectations and tingling feelings inside! The feeling you only get when you endeavour on ADVENTURE!
Malvern Hills is the "usual" place to go for us. It is the closest hilliest location with a good hiking option. It also offers parking π Ώ and toilet facilities π» which indeed is a must.
This time we have decided to explore the Perseverance hill (what a name!). The area was not as busy as usual, most likely a result of the ongoing pandemic. But the toilets were still open. π
A steep climb up and we were on top of the first hill - the Perseverance hill. It is only 280m high, but it is enough to feel like standing on top of the world. From here you have a beautiful view onto the town down below, the passing train through the tunnel and the green valley towards Wales.
Nah, just joking! The terrain is fantastic and rocky in places. It is a really easy climb as well.
From Perseverance hill the hike takes you through the woods to the Jubilee hill. It is 327 m high, so a bit higher. But what sets it apart is the name - given in honour of The Queen's Golden Jubilee marking the 50th reign anniversary. Unfortunately, the plate put here by Prince Andrew has varnished.
