Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
When I created my Beauties of Azores series, I wanted it to be a weekly travel series where I would share the extraordinary charm and appeal of the Azores Islands with you through my photos.
Then, unfortunately, the coronavirus craziness got in the way, preventing me from contributing to the series on the planned weekly basis. We were kept under a very strict lockdown for long months and it was very frustrating for me not to be able to go out and enjoy and appreciate all the beauty of the Sao Miguel Island.
Therefore, just before leaving the island, when the lifted restrictions allowed us to do so, we decided to go for a last, farewell trip to say goodbye to the places we loved the most. It was important for me to take this trip so that my last memories of the island would be nice and positive.
The island boasts many amazing places but it´s the Sete Cidades Volcanic Lakes Complex that made the biggest impression on us so we headed out there. I have already written a lot about this wonderful place in many of my previous posts here on my blog and I don´t want to repeat myself so let me just pay tribute to this captivating part of the island through these 25 photos that I took there.
Some of the views might be familiar to you from my older posts but this time around, we also hiked up to places we had never been before so a lot of the following sceneries were completely new to us.
I hope you enjoyed this special photo collection dedicated to the natural beauty of the landscapes surrounding the volcanic lakes of Sete Cidades on the Sao Miguel Island. It probably is the very last episode of the Beauties of Azores series so thank you for your attention guys. I hope I managed to meet the original goal of the series, which was to promote the beauty of this remarkable Portuguese archipelago.
Thank you, Sao Miguel, for being our home for some 7 months. I hope the beautiful memories of all the stunning places that we got to see there will prevail over the memories of the hardships we experienced while living on the island.
Esperamos vê-lo novamente em breve, Açores. Obrigado por tudo!
Since this is probably the final part of the series, let me wrap it up with links to all of the previous episodes of the series so that people who are interested in the Azores can find everything in one place. The posts are ranked chronologically as they were published on my blog.
