Wow, now that was a fight!

Here comes Pinkie-Pepper with another impressive one. Unfortunately, it's not a fish this time, although she did catch it on a fishing pole. This one is a Softshell Turtle. It bit her bait just like a fish would, and put up quite a fight too. Eventually she got it reeled in and we were able to net it. These guys can bit pretty hard, so if you can't get the hook safely out of their mouths, it's okay to release them with the hook still in. It should rust out in a short amount of time and then the turtle can get back onto its regular life. As much as we like seeing turtles, we certainly do not like catching them on fishing poles. This one was pretty big... enjoy the photos!
