Other Niche Communities Curation Report #157

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 157th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

Another abandoned dog turned up at the temple

I think it is just me but it hits me more in the feels when an abandoned dog is a tiny little thing that doesn't stand much chance of being able to survive on its own. These dogs will normally have a more difficult time becoming part of the pack and because generally speaking "house dogs" haven't socialized with other dogs for most of their lives they are less likely to try to gain acceptance by the other dogs that are there. Even though we provide enough food for everyone we have to pay special attention to these new additions when they arrive because dogs are very protective of food and fights can begin even when there is plenty to go around.

Things I love about living in Vietnam

I have been doing a lot of complaining about Vietnam and a friend of mine in Thailand has been doing the same about that country. I think that these days it is really easy to get down because Covid is hitting us late and now we have to stare in awe at all the people on the other side of the planet that no longer have to lockdown at all and it is "our turn" now. Therefore it is easy to complain a bunch and I will admit that I have been doing my share lately.

The Purple Sun Bird

I wake up every day and wait to enjoy the silvery sweet notes of the sun birds. The common ones here being the purple rumped sun bird and the purple sunbird. These tiny little birds are up from dawn to dusk collecting nectar and eating tiny insects.

Grow Mung Beans Sprout at home

Hi everyone here in Hive Garden! This is my first post here in the community, I would like to briefly introduce myself. I'm Rodylina from Philippines, I'm a housewife and mom of two daughters. I joined this community because I really love growing plants. When I was younger I used to help my grandparents to plant some vegetables like string beans, water spinach, and others like peanuts, ginger, taro and sweet potato. We also have a small garden of roses, daisy and orchids. Since I have my own family and we moved to the city it's not easy to plant like before unless you have a yard in your house but in my case I can only plant on pots. Sometimes I regrow onion spring and grow mung beans at home.

DEPRESSION: UNDERSTANDING SUICIDAL IDEATION

Some days back, I finished working on a particular commissioned drawing and was about making arrangements to have it delivered to my client. Messaging my client, she told me to pause the delivery for the main time that she's currently not in a good shape. I'm always concern about people so I asked her what's wrong? And she responded saying she's mourning a loved one, and immediately I felt her pain and understands why she would want some time for her to grieve. I ask if the person that died wasn't feeling well in the first place, she responded saying he actually committed suicide. This really touched me, because when I asked, she did affirm the young man has been going through a lot, but she never imagined he would contemplate taking his life.

Using natural medicine to create a very tasty snack- great for the heart. Great for the wasitline and even better for the mental health

So in the title I made a pretty big statement some might say- especially when they read the end where I say and even better for the mental health.

And this is the reason that I'm posting this recipe- essentially an experiment with food, to create the tastiest, fastest snack yet, in this community. Because this community is all about natural medicine and what better natural medicine than to be able to activate therapy for your mental health than by being able to step into the kitchen, completely unhindered by time, humans, Covid, and by cooking convention to create your own delicious, fast snack AND by using ingredients that are scientifically proven to help brain health, heart health and overall well being.
