Other Niche Communities Curation Report #149

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 149th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

Community: Self Improvement

So to start off today's post I am gonna share with you a short story that has been invaluable to me throughout my life.

It's a story that I have told many people at times when they were faced with great uncertainty.
You may be wondering does he really say things in real life, yup! I also9 constantly hand out awful, self improvement style quotes like:

Better to have a short pencil than a long memory. Some colleagues at work find it amusing, others likely just hate that weirdo with all the quotes, C'est la vie, right?

Benefits of Writing

Each person chooses Hive for different reasons, I chose Hive at first to practice my writing skill which has helped me a lot in daily life. This weekend is still in lockdown here, therefore, I have time to review myself in writing and I would like to write down my personal advantages and hope they bring you some inspirations to continue your sharing here :)

Unable to travel? Try Staycation - Heck with Pandemic

Wanna ask me what is a staycation? The answer is simpler than your imagination! Or maybe you have already guessed it before I thought of an answer for this! Staycation comes from the contraction of “stay” and “vacation”. Yes, a staycation that basically invented by Americans, but we in Australia have been doing this for decades.

🎨 Still Life with Beer

A few months ago, unexpectedly for myself, I suddenly decided to learn to draw, despite the fact that I have never done this. So I decided to sometimes take lessons from my artist friend. The first pictures were ... mmm, not very good, especially when I tried to paint with acrylics :) But I did not give up and decided to focus on pastels, dry and oily, and I started to get a little good. So now I already have a number of pictures to share, and a couple of those that turned out well (for me), my relatives even took away from me to hang them at home — of course, this is more as a sign of family feelings, but nevertheless it's nice 😅

Odesa guidebook: Must-see places #7 Odesa Opera and Ballet Theater (and vaccination) (EN/UA)

Yesterday turned out to be the most productive and interesting. First of all, we got a chip from Bill Gates. That is, they were vaccinated with Pfizer products. And we got a very intelligent chip, because two hours after the ring we were sitting at the Odessa Opera House at a concert of organ music. I honestly admit that I am not a fan of such music, but it was a wonderful (and cheap) opportunity to visit this majestic building and look at it from the inside.

Even the feeling of fatigue and a sore arm after the injection could not stop this possibility.

[Esp-Eng] Corazón de Piedra// Heart of Stone

Hello Hive community, there are many occasions where we give love, affection and attention to certain people in our lives and they do not appreciate it.

We exist people with a very high sense of empathy, cooperation and tolerance, we are able to put aside our needs to contribute to the welfare of others.

Of course without going to extremes it is not wrong to help others, however in life I have learned that we should not help those who do not ask for help because there are really very few cases in which they value it.

As well as with sadness I must tell you that I have also learned that there are people who do not deserve your love, regardless of how it is manifested.

Story about my Grandmother (Part 2): Grace After Grief

My grandmother, despite married, living separately form her original family and a mother to two, she was still pressured to send money to her dad for another several years. After she started refusing, or in other words what our generation would call "putting up boundaries", she was excommunicated by her dad for two whole years. Whenever she visited her parents, her dad would shut her out, not talk to her and refuse her his blessing every time.

Pursue what catches your heart, not what catches your Eye

The very idea brings in the special feeling of satisfaction in your life. There are few lucky people who find things sooner and start to live with their passion. And for some it takes a while and may take whole while. When you see your passion is your work, you do not work for money. You work for making it perfect each time and the results follow.

Atmanna Garden Blog 25th August 2021

It's been four months since my last garden blog when everything at Atmanna in #Bulgaria was just seeds in pots indoors, so a lot has changed. I was away for a month at a rainbow gathering in June/July but was fortunate enough to have @lio.ness, @awakening.soul and @mountainman taking care of the #garden between them in my absence.

Pictures below of some of the garden beds and plants.
