When motherland calls.

"Today is our holiday, O brother, today is our holiday" - through Kazi Nazrul Islam's poem, "holiday", there comes a metaphor - as the colours of nature change, so does the human mind. At the beginning of the hot summer in Dubai, the exams of the schools and colleges are carried out and completed. There is a common reason of joy between the students and parents alike. Everyone is excited to go back home.

As if a sigh of peace comes out with a long breath. It is the only time that seems to get rid of the ups and downs of living as an expat; children's education, business, job, house rent, etc., even if just for a moment. The two to three months of intense heat in Dubai is unimaginable back home in our country. That is why eighty percent of the expatriates spend their days waiting for the summer vacations.

All, including the kids, are counting down the days...when will I fly to my country?...I will go to big houses and play on the playground with my uncles, aunts and grandparents.

When the children of different countries, working men and women get together, the first question is always when are you going back to the country?
As soon as I look at the faces of the children, my heart fills up with happiness.
So much joy in their eyes to buy new clothes - like a bird jus out of its cage.
Women are the happiest- buying gold, calling each other to find where the best saris for the best prices are available. What an enthusiasm to go back home!! As if the entire world has now palmed itself in their hands.

For just a few days all the longing for home, the sorrows and worries of living in a foreign country, all the pain is left behind. Those back home in the motherland will never understand how rude foreign life is and how tough can it make a person. Some try to forget the tiresome days waiting in the foreign lands, soaking in the rain of motherland and basking in its sun.

The funny thing is that children get busy with shopping right up until boarding the plane. In the same way, it is also always in their planners to go to shopping in the local malls of the country. The girls are a little more enthusiastic when it comes to shopping.

And if there is a wedding in the country, oh boy! Things can get very very exciting.

I will apply haldi on myself. I will design mehendi on my body. I want to buy a new gown to wear on the wedding day. I want to wear a garland on the Walima.

Bangladesh wedding ceremonies are so beautiful !!

The summer holidays seem to come with all kinds of joy in the homes of the expatriates.
