BUSH MANGO SEED-WHAT TO KNOW.

Hello Lovelies,hope you are having a splendid day? So I found this in mum's kitchen and thought to share the little I know about the Bush mango seed.

This is called "mbukpabuyo" in my local dialect and can be found in the wilds of Africa. It is known for its large content of protein,nutrients and vitamins. It is aromatic. It also thickens soups when used.

Mbukpabuyo seeds come from an edible mango-like fruit called Bush Mango and even the tree bark has got great health benefits.

Bush Mango is often plucked from its tree or picked from the ground, allowed to decompose for few days or alternatively the pulp can be peeled,leaving behind the ogbono nuts.The nuts are then cracked with an hammer or stone and the seeds extracted.

This seeds can be dried in the sun for few days.Sun-drying Bush Mango seeds helps to preserve the seed for a long time. This way it can be later stored in a container and used for a year or more.

Moreover,the Bush mango seeds can be pressed for vegetable oil or margarine. Some use it for stew, dika bread or Gabon chocolate.
Bush Mango seeds help in reducing fast blood glucose levels.It suppresses hunger.Even when eating its soup,one quickly gets filled. Pressed Bush Mango seeds can be used to make cosmetics and soaps.
So you will agree with me that there is more to this Bush mango small seeds than what meets the eye.
