Before the Rain

One of my favourite spaces is the bathroom. The bath is set in front of the window with a view to the stoep. It's different every day and every season. Often, In think that I should take a picture, but who takes their phone to the bathroom? Well, not often, anyway, and yesterday, I did. And this was my bath view.

Then, back up stairs, the morning's through the window prettiness before the rain arrived, continued.

I am in need of silver linings at the moment, so I'll take them wherever I find them.

It was, of course, Cinco de Mayo, so last night's pasta supper was also a slight nod to things Mexican: the salad with avo and fresh coriander dressed with lime and if you liked, chilli!

The pasta was courgettes with sundried tomato pesto.

All prepared during thunder, lightning and flickering lights. The power did eventually go at about 4am to return around 7.15am.

Rain measured at our house: 69mm (between about 2pm yesterday and 8.30am this morning) and 76mm and 100+mm on adjacent farms.

It's good. It's been a very dry year. So far.

Until next time, be well
