Hey guys! My name is Daniel(but you can call me Dany) I am proud to be Cuban, from Havana. I had a long-standing task: to start on Hive. I have known about Hive for a while, even before HiveCuba was created. I remember how Manu wrote about this opportunity for the forgotten people of the internet. Like, imagine creating dope content and not being able to make a dime off of it. It´s crazy, right? During this time, I have been checking out some of the best creators on Hive. I was not sure if I was ready to take the plunge, though, mostly because my life was chaotic. But I have been keeping up with the HiveCuba community and it is amazing to see how much it is grown in such a short period f time. It is already a reference in the blockchain. Lately, I have been reading the summaries of Jorge´s classes, and it is been a game-changer for me. It is what inspired me to start writing today, I´m so glad I did!
Mi nombre es Daniel (pero puedes decirme Dany)y soy orgullosamente cubano, de la Habana. Hace tiempo tenía una tarea pendiente: Comenzar en Hive. Rápidamente, te cuento que conocí de Hive hace ya un tiempo, tanto que HiveCuba no estaba creada. Recuerdo como Manu escribía sobre esta oportunidad para los olvidados de internet. Imagínate crear contenido y no poder monetizarlo. Más simple aún navegar por internet y no poder acceder a lo más común que se te venga a la cabeza, pues ese es nuestro día a día. Por mi cuenta empecé a investigar y consumir contenido de alguno de los creadores más conocidos de Hive. Aun así, no me había decido iniciar, más que nada por falta de tiempo. En alguna medida me mantenía al tanto de la comunidad. Es increíble ver como en un período tan corto ha crecido, se ha fortalecido y ya es un referente en la blockchain. En este último mes, estuve leyendo los resumenes de las clases hechos por Jorge . Debo decir que esto fue lo que me impulsó para hoy estar escribiendo.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I´m a med student, I love every minute of it. When I´m not nose-deep in my studies, I´m all about sports. I don´t get to play as much as I used to, but I still love keeping up with the games (I have been a Madridista for as long as I can remember) I´m all about binge-watching some good series, catching flicks, and getting lost in a good book. It's the perfect way to unwind. (If you got any recs, I'm all ears).
There's nothing more important to me than my fam and friends. I'm lucky to have them all close by, and I make sure to dedicate my time to them, you will see. I mean, everyone knows a movie's way better when you got company. I'm pretty laid back, although, a good party once in a while doesn´t hurt 😉. Anyways, I hope you feel like you know me a bit better now.
Para que me conozcas un poco. Soy estudiante de medicina, amo serlo. El resto del tiempo, me encantan los deportes. No tengo mucho tiempo para practicarlos como antes (madridista desde que tengo memoria). En mis ratos libres; disfruto de ver buenas series, películas y leer algún que otro libro. Esto me permite despejarme un poco, así que te agradezco cualquier recomendación que tengas para mí. No hay cosa más importante que mi familia y mis amigos. Puedo decir que tengo la suerte de tenerlos cerca. Mi tiempo en gran medida va dedicado a ellos y nadie puede negar que una película se ve mejor en compañía que solo. Resumiendo, soy bastante tranquilo. Aunque una fiesta de vez en cuando no le hace daño a nadie 😉 Espero que poco a poco me puedas conocer mejor.
I know you are probably thinking that I´m here to talk about all medical things, but nah, that´s not my vibe. In Cuba, we say: If you only know about medicine, you don´t even know about medicine. The main reason I joined Hive is because of my parents: Thanks to my mom, I've been able to explore so much of my country since I was a little one. And let me tell ya, I've seen some crazy places, met some unique characters, and heard stories that'll stick with me forever. On the flip side, my dad's a retired Air Force pilot and a total gearhead. As the firstborn and only son, I grew up hearing all about aviation, pilot school, objectives, and maneuvers. I remember learning how an airplane worked before I learned multiplication tables. I got all kinds of memories and anecdotes, and I'm hyped to start sharing them with you. So, buckle up, fam, 'cause it's about to get wild.
Seguro estás pensando que venía a escribir sobre temas médicos, pero no. Dicen que el de medicina solo sabe, ni de medicina sabe; así que no. Realmente, lo que me anima a empezar en Hive son mis padres. Gracias a mi madre, desde chiquito pude conocer gran parte de mi país. En estos viajes conocí lugares increíbles, personas únicas y varios cuentos imposibles de olvidar. Por otro lado; mi padre, piloto retirado de la Fuerza Aérea y amante de todo lo que tenga motor. Como primogénito y único hijo varón, crecí escuchando cuentos de la aviación, la escuela de pilotos, misiones, objetivos y maniobras. Recuerdo que aprendí primero como funcionaba un avión que las tablas de multiplicación. Los recuerdos y anécdotas me sobran y a partir de ahora quisiera compartirlos.
So, on both here and Twitter I'll be dropping some knowledge about all things, like aviation, cars, and a few of my dad's adventures, along with some stories about my trips. Gonna be a wild ride, my friend.
At this point, you're probably wondering why my username is dahpilot?. Well, that was the name my pops was gonna use when he joined Hive to share his own firsthand experiences and he chose that username. But he's been busy with work lately, so I decided to take over and keep the name alive.
I've seen many people set some serious goals on Hive, and I'm all about that energy. So, here's what I'm hoping to achieve: I wanna learn everything there is to know about Hive and become a content-creating machine, but my main goal is: to achieve a constant publishing cycle, first for 1 month. Then extend it to 6 months. I'm excited to see how I grow as a person and a creator throughout this journey, and hopefully, I can help some of y'all grow along with me.
Es por ello que tanto por aquí como por Twitter verás contenido relacionado con: curiosidades de la aviación, el automovilismo, algunas vivencias de mi padre y los viajes con mi madre. Un poco de ambos.¿Por que dahpilot? Mi padre, era el que iba a empezar en Hive compartiendo sus vivencias de primera mano y escogió ese nombre de usuario. Su trabajo últimamente no le deja mucho tiempo, decidí mantener el usuario y continuar con la creación de contenido.He visto que muchas personas se trazan metas bien serias en Hive y comparto ese entusiasmo, así que, aquí van las mías: quiero aprender más sobre todo lo que tiene que ofrecer Hive. Pero mi meta principal es: lograr un ciclo de publicación constante, primero por 1 mes. Luego extenderlo hasta 6 y ver como crezco, tanto como persona como creador. En el camino me gustaría ayudar al crecimiento de otros y por supuesto divertirme en cada cosa que haga.

PS: I´m writing my introduction on Hive in English even though I´m from Cuba, because I have loved practicing English since I was a kid, and I´m hoping to create some of my content in English in the future.
