¡Hola lectores! yo soy Nikol y vivo en Colombia; debo admitir que no soy muy buena en la cuestión de presentarse, pero quiero que me conozcan un poco mejor y sepan por qué estoy aquí.
¿Quién soy yo?
Estoy en proceso de entrar a estudiar la carrera de medicina (sí, ya sé que es demasiado trabajo en esa carrera, pero que te puedo decir, me apasiona de sobre manera) y como podrán imaginar, es una carrera con muchísima intensidad en lectura, compromiso y esfuerzo. Pd: eso ya debe ser una pista de cual va a ser mi aporte en esta plataforma. Siempre me he considerado una persona muy activa, versátil y demasiado curiosa, siempre estoy buscando cosas nuevas a las cuales adentrarme y conocer un poco más, les hablaré un poco de lo que he hecho a lo largo de mi vida.
De niña me gustaban mucho los deportes, comencé con el patinaje (me quedaron muchas cicatrices de mis años de patinadora), seguí de porrista, también practiqué baloncesto durante muchos años hasta que al día de hoy me dedico a hacer equitación y es algo que realmente estoy disfrutando demasiado ya que es una manera diferente de conectar con estos animales. Sin embargo, no solo me he dedicado a los deportes, ¡también tengo mi lado artístico! Durante muchos años toqué el piano al tiempo que tenía clases de canto para complementar mi formación, participando de manera activa en recitales y conciertos en eventos culturales para el lugar en donde vivo, durante un buen tiempo intenté también practicar y desarrollar varias técnicas en el maquillaje artístico y social junto con un grupo de chicas, gracias a mi escuela también aprendí a dibujar y pintar (de lo cual pude sacar dos proyectos en los que invertí mucho amor y dedicación, al día de hoy estoy muy orgullosa de ellos)
Mi gusto por todas estas actividades realmente no se compara con el gusto que le tengo a ayudar los demás; en el colegio tenía la especialidad de salud en la cual aprendí tantísimo no solo de el cuerpo humano y sus funciones o patologías, si no también me enseñaron la importancia de ayudar a las personas que nos rodean; durante mis últimos años de colegio nos llevaban en jornadas de ayuda a adultos mayores que han quedado solos debido a su edad y hacíamos con ellos varias actividades para que fuera más amena su estadía en los ancianatos.
Me gusta compartir de lo que tengo y de lo que sé, de ahí nace mi motivación para crear una cuenta en Hive y plasmar aquí una de las cosas que más me apasiona en la vida que es el mundo de la lectura.
¿Cómo llegué hasta aquí?
Descubrí la plataforma gracias a un amigo muy cercano a mí y hablando un poco más sobre el tema sentí que sería una buena idea adentrarme un poco más en esto y disfrutar el doble una de mis pasiones de toda la vida; como ya les dije amo la lectura, claro que tiene una historia graciosa detrás de este gran gusto. Deben admitir que cuando éramos niños casi no nos gustaba leer y si lo hacíamos era por obligación, lastimosamente ese era mi caso, mi padre era un poco “brusco” al momento de encontrar soluciones para hacerme leer, tanto así que pensó que sería una excelente idea (sí, sarcasmo) hacerme leer la enciclopedia completa y otra cantidad de textos que realmente no eran acordes para mi edad y mi poco entendimiento sobre algunos temas, eso me hizo tenerle un odio a la lectura hasta el día en que decidió invertir y comprar libros que si pudiera leer. A la edad de solo 10 años me leí completa la saga de Narnia, ¡sus 7 libros enteros!, ahí me di cuenta que realmente la lectura no estaba tan mal y que ese montón de historias increíbles estaban ahí para mi, al alcance de mi mano. Quedé completamente enamorada de leer y al día de hoy después de 8 años sigue siendo así, un poco más crítica respecto a lo que leo pero con el mismo cariño y respeto que tenía desde niña.
¿De qué se tratará mi contenido?
Lo que nos puede hacer buenos lectores es nunca quedarnos con un solo género de lectura, así que mi principal intención será crear contenido sobre libros para todos los gustos posibles, sintetizando lo más importante y especial de cada libro sin dejar que pierda su intención y esencia; aquí encontrarás desde los libros más clásicos hasta un montón de libros modernos, sobre temáticas variadas para que te diviertas conociendo un poco de todo. Al mismo tiempo haré presentaciones sobre mis autores favoritos o recomendaciones de aquellos a los que me vaya encontrando a medida que pase el tiempo, esto con fin de que los conozcas y encuentres lecturas de ellos que te llamen la atención (Espero también me comentes que libros encuentras, ¡la retroalimentación será muy aprovechada por todos!) . Realmente espero que se enamoren de los libros a través de mi y vean el montón de mundos maravillosos que se pueden explorar sin moverse de su casa, dejar volar nuestra imaginación es lo más lindo que podemos hacer por nosotros mismos ya que mantenemos siempre viva ese lado de nuestro ser.

Hi readers! I'm Nikol and I live in Colombia; I must admit I'm not very good at introducing myself, but I want you to get to know me a little better and know why I'm here.
Who am I?
I'm in the process of starting to study medicine (yes, I know it's a lot of work in that career, but what can I say, I'm very passionate about it) and as you can imagine, it's a career with a lot of intensity in reading, commitment and effort. Pd: that should already be a clue as to what my contribution to this platform is going to be. I have always considered myself a very active, versatile and curious person, I am always looking for new things to get into and learn a little more, I will tell you a little of what I have done throughout my life.
As a child I loved sports,i started with skating (I had a lot of scars from my years as a skater), I continued as a cheerleader, I also played basketball for many years until today I am dedicated to horseback riding and it is something I am really enjoying a lot as it is a different way to connect with these animals. However, I have not only been involved in sports, I also have an artistic side! For many years I played the piano while I had singing lessons to complement my training, actively participating in recitals and concerts in cultural events for the place where I live, for a long time I also tried to practice and develop various techniques in artistic and social makeup along with a group of girls, thanks to my school I also learned to draw and paint (from which I could get two projects in which I invested a lot of love and dedication, today I am very proud of them)
My love for all these activities does not really compare with the love I have for helping others; in college I had the specialty of health in which I learned so much not only of the human body and its functions or pathologies, but also taught me the importance of helping the people around us; during my last years of college we were taken on days of help to older adults who have been left alone because of their age and we did with them various activities to make their stay in the nursing homes more enjoyable.
I like to share what I have and what I know, hence my motivation to create an account on Hive and to express here one of the things I am most passionate about in life, which is the world of reading.
How did I get here?
I discovered the platform thanks to a very close friend of mine and talking a little more about the subject I felt it would be a good idea to go a little deeper into this and enjoy twice as much one of my lifelong passions; as I told you I love reading, of course it has a funny story behind this great taste. You must admit that when we were children we almost didn't like to read and if we did it was by obligation, unfortunately that was my case, my father was a little "rough" when it came to find solutions to make me read, so much so that he thought it would be an excellent idea. (yes, sarcasm) Making me read the whole encyclopedia and a lot of other texts that were not really suitable for my age and my little understanding of some subjects, that made me hate reading until the day I decided to invest and buy books that I could read. At the age of only 10 years old I read the entire Narnia saga, all 7 books, that's when I realized that reading wasn't really that bad and that all those amazing stories were there for me, at my fingertips. I was completely in love with reading and today after 8 years it is still like that, a little more critical about what I read but with the same affection and respect that I had since I was a child.
What will my content be about?
What can make us good readers is to never stay with a single genre of reading, so my main intention will be to create content about books for all possible tastes, synthesizing the most important and special of each book without losing its intention and essence; here you will find from the most classic books to a lot of modern books, on various topics for you to have fun knowing a little of everything. At the same time I will make presentations about my favorite authors or recommendations of those that I meet as time goes by, so that you can get to know them and find readings of them that catch your attention. (I also look forward to hearing what books you find, the feedback will be greatly appreciated by all!) . I really hope you fall in love with books through me and see how many wonderful worlds you can explore without leaving your home, letting our imagination fly is the nicest thing we can do for ourselves as we always keep that side of our being alive.
