My appointment as youth secretary

Amigos, hoy les quiero contar sobre un evento importante para mi vida que sucedió hace muy poco. Ya que el pasado domingo, asumí oficialmente como secretario juvenil y quería contarles un poco mas a fondo sobre esta experiencia.

Guys, today I want to tell you about an important event in my life that happened very recently. Last Sunday, I officially took over as youth secretary and I wanted to tell you a little more about this experience.

Desde temprano en la mañana me desperté, llamando a las personas que nos acompañarían, confirmando los transportes para los muchachos que se encuentran en diferentes partes de la ciudad y muchas otras cosas que comencé a asumir desde que sabía que asumiría el cargo. Después de que todo estaba mediana mente salimos de casa y nos dirigimos al punto de encuentro donde esperamos tanto al transporte como a los que se subirían en esa parada, cuando fue hora de irnos llamamos a los contactos de las próximas paradas y a la hora de llegar al sitio del evento teníamos ya la buseta llena.

From early in the morning I woke up, calling the people that would accompany us, confirming the transports for the guys that are in different parts of the city and many other things that I started to assume since I knew I would take the position. After everything was medium minded we left home and headed to the meeting point where we waited for both the transport and those who would get on at that stop, when it was time to go we called the contacts of the next stops and by the time we arrived at the event site we had a full bus.

Durante el acto, se presentaron tanto al candidato para la alcaldía de nuestra ciudad como a la gobernadora que planea luchar por ser reelecta, ambos apoyando el proceso de elección primario donde se elige quien será nuestro candidato único que representara a la oposición. Después de que el acto comenzara, los candidatos procedieron con un discurso para incentivar a estas elecciones y para demostrar que aún queda mucho camino por delante para nosotros los que creemos en la vía electoral. Al final del acto, fuimos levantados viejos y nuevos miembros de comité para ser juramentados oficialmente como miembros del buro municipal… Siendo sincero jamás había temblado tanto en un evento público aunque claro, jamás había sido juramentado ante nada frente a una multitud. Finalmente termino el evento y mis amigos me fueron a saludar, nos reíamos y hablábamos de las que cosas que tendremos que hacer de ahora en adelante, hablamos con miembros de los diferentes equipos que hay en todo el estado pero que fueron a este gran evento que se conoce como “MaelecAD”.

During the event, both the candidate for mayor of our city and the governor who plans to fight for re-election were introduced, both supporting the primary election process where we choose who will be our sole candidate representing the opposition. After the rally began, the candidates proceeded with a speech to encourage this election and to demonstrate that there is still a long road ahead for those of us who believe in the electoral path. At the end of the act, old and new committee members were lifted up to be officially sworn in as members of the municipal bureau... To be honest, I had never shaken so much in a public event, although of course, I had never been sworn in before anything in front of a crowd. Finally the event ended and my friends went to greet me, we laughed and talked about the things we will have to do from now on, we talked with members of the different teams that are all over the state but that went to this great event known as "MaelecAD".
