Drawing Myself as Chopper of One Piece <3 (Colored Pencil art)

Several years back, I was able to get the chance to join some cosplay events here in my country. Despite being an introvert, I can try and muster my courage to join an event with lots of people... but I could only last a day and go back to my cave and stay there for a long time before I become ready to meet people again. haha

I really enjoyed cosplaying as Chopper because he has such a bubbly character and it's quite similar to mine. I like making people laugh and be crazy with them... but only in a small group, please? haha But really, Chopper is one of my favorite One Piece characters and I just find him so cute.

I have drawn this image digitally before as you can see in my profile picture, but I wanted to test my ability in creating portraits using watercolor pencils. I decided not to use water for this art, though... but I might, in the future? We'll see. :)

I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out to be. I must say that I have somehow improved and I'm determined to keep practicing... if possible, everyday. :) I used the old and thinner watercolor pad for this drawing... and as I've mentioned in my previous blog, I decided to draw a border instead of using masking tape for this pad. :) Anyway, let me show you the process. I did this in less than two hours. <3

One of my students was absent, so I decided to start with the sketching part and proceed with the coloring after work. :) It's me!!! I can see the resemblance and I'm happy about it. lol

As usual I started coloring the facial features and the face. This is the most delicate part for me, so it usually takes me longer coloring this part compared to the other parts. :)

The main subject of this artwork is done and all that's left is some background color, my username and signature.

I am undoubtedly happy with how it came out to be. And I enjoyed the process. I'll continue drawing various stuff from now on. I miss making anime fanarts, too... so I'll try to make some in the future. Also, I want to continue painting landscapes using watercolor as well as oil pastel. I'll try to find some interesting subjects to paint in the days to come. :)

I'll end this post here. Thanks a lot and I hope you enjoyed checking out the process along the way. ^^
