With that experience in mind, I now order with a blank slate and try to be open minded and that was what I applied on our visit to [Loungebar & Restaurant JinSo](https://www.jinso.nl/pg-26549-7-61178/pagina/jinso.html).***

Looking at their [regular menu](https://www.jinso.nl/content/26549/download/clnt/98989_Menukaart_2021-11_zp.pdf) JinSo advertises itself as an Asian fusion restaurant, with some Western options. As my standards for Indonesian (mainly Javanese) food are quite high, I swayed between Malay or Thai flavors. The Pad Thai Chicken was my final choice.

Their plating was aesthetically pleasing, but the portion size rather small for my appetite. The food on the other hand was lovely: the crunchiness of the peanuts paired well with the chewy noodles and herbs and the lemon enhanced the overall taste. It was light yet savory.

My co-food-adventurer ordered the Udon Beef, which was on the other spectrum taste wise: strong flavors with a little bite. Delectable to say the least. The beef juices attached well to the udon and the krupuk (crackers) provided a nice crunch as garnish.

In comparison to the "diner" type of restaurants we lately frequented, the interior of JinSo was mellow and had a "posh" feel. And though there was a large clientele, there was no noise disturbances. Probably because the tables aren't closely placed. The light fixtures also helped creating the gentle atmosphere.
