Hi all!
From my footballers drawing series, I present to you my new artwork. Time time, I drew a France footballer who currently plays for Manchester United at club level. His name is Raphael Varane.
Formerly a Real Madrid player who was an undisputed Central Back later went to United after winning every possible trophy there. He had been benched by the current United coach for much of the season.
However, with the recent injuries hampering united players, even in the defense, he was restored back and he is performing very well. I hope he continues in this level and win back the coach's trust.
Here, I drew him positioning in a three-quarter format. I love how those squiggles moved around in his face to build forms and textures. I also love the formation of his hairstyle with thicker ink.
The piece was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper using scribble style. My steps can be seen below:
