Hello creatives,
It's a wonderful day and just as always,I would love to share my art with everyone.Today's painting is the latest painting I made using oil colours on a 28 by 32 inches canvas and even though it was commissioned, I still titled it,"Giving life through colours".
So,the story behind it goes as thus.
I was commissioned by a widow to draw her late husband in preparation for a forthcoming celebration party and when I got the reference photograph,after carefully examining it,I began to think of what I could add to the image while painting that would give life to it and from my colour usage to the rendition of different elements in the painting,I began to infuse life into my subject using colours and then I had to input another important element,which was the beads.Beads,from where I come from denotes "royalty" and I think there is nothing royal about death.
With the careful placement of the beads on him in the painting, it gave life to the totality of the painting., making me put down my brushes in accomplishment and indeed life was given to a canvas through colours.
As usual I took some progress shots while working.
