Hello creatives,it's a bright, sunny afternoon over here and it's just about time to paint the hive world with colours and today I will be sharing a painting I did of a friend, it was a life painting on a 3 by 4 feet canvas.It took quite some time and it was really an experience.
Before now,I had been accustomed to painting from images and the likes but a careful study of the masters of old,the likes of Leonardo da vinci,Rembrandt,Ander Zorn to mention but a few shows that they mostly painted their subjects from life,little wonder why they were so good in the rendition of human anatomy and colour building.
So,I decided to try it out and saw that it was worth it and it is an indispensable aspect of painting as it relates to the academics.
While painting the model,I watched out for the light source,the mood of my model and with the meticulous use of my brushstrokes,I sought to capture her artistic essence on canvas and I must confess that I really enjoyed the journey.
As usual,I took some progress shots while working, do enjoy.
