"THE TOWER XVI- Tarot Card, Major Arcana"
I created this artwork and digitally colored it. This is the tarot card, Major Arcana called "THE TOWER XVI." I drew this artwork and digitally colored and processed it. I created this artwork before and made it for a tarot card. This major arcana card is a little bit scary card but there are not only bad meanings.
My Japanese style of THE TOWER tarot cart is different from a typical tarot card's picture. A usual TOWER card is thunder breaking the tower and two people falling down from the tower. The strips of Japanese paper which is the background of this picture describes thunder and lightning. Also, there is a dragon circling around unstably swinging the five-storied pagoda building. There is a lady in a ceremonial robe called Juunihitoe, running to the tower or, she is becoming the dragon and going up to the sky.
Description
The Tower is sometimes interpreted as meaning danger, crisis, sudden change, destruction, higher learning, and liberation.[6] In the Rider–Waite deck, the top of The Tower is a crown, which symbolizes materialistic thought being bought cheap. The Tower is associated with the planet Mars. According to A.E. Waite's Pictorial Key To The Tarot, the Tower card is associated with:
16.THE TOWER.-- Misery, distress, indigence, adversity, calamity, disgrace, deception, ruin. It is a card in particular of unforeseen catastrophe. Reversed: Negligence, absence, distribution, carelessness, distraction, apathy, nullity, vanity.
”塔 十六 ・タロットカード、大アルカナ”
絵を描きデジタルで色づけしました。タロットカード、大アルカナの”塔 十六番”です。以前作成した絵をタロットにしました。少し怖い印象のあるカードですが、悪い意味ばかりでもない大アルカナのカードです。
通常のタワーの絵柄とは少し違う和風の塔です。通常の塔は雷によってタワーが崩れ、人が落ちている絵柄です。わたしの絵柄は、背景の短冊の和柄が雷を象徴し、ぐらぐら揺れている五重塔を取り巻くように龍がいます。十二単を着た女性が塔に向かって走っているようにも見えますし、彼女自体が龍になって空に昇っているようにも見えます。
カードの意味と解釈
テーマは「破綻」。
正位置の意味
破壊、破滅、崩壊、災害、悲劇、悲惨、惨事、惨劇、凄惨、戦意喪失、記憶喪失、被害妄想、トラウマ、踏んだり蹴ったり、自己破壊、洗脳、メンタルの破綻、風前の灯、意識過剰、過剰な反応、アンチテーゼ、自傷行為。
逆位置の意味
緊迫、突然のアクシデント、必要悪、誤解、不幸、無念、屈辱、天変地異。
正位置・逆位置のいずれにおいても凶とされている唯一のカードであるが、解釈によっては、解放、改革、殻破りなど、逆位置が良いとされる場合もある。アーサー・エドワード・ウェイトのタロット図解における解説では「悲嘆・災難・不名誉・転落」を意味するとされる。
