This drawing is what I did today as an appreciation to all farmers who keeps on planting. I only use pencil and crayon😁

The Story behind
As we can see today, we are now experiencing drought due to El Niño. Here in our place we can see the water level is unusual compared in the past. Farmers in our place before can have their garden minimum of 1000 square meter per variety, having up to 3 variety planted at the same time.
As young ones that time, we are excited every saturdays and holidays coz it is our time to go to our neighbor's garden or to our parents garden to clean and weeding the crops or gathering vegetables and fruits and at the end of the day, we expect free vegetable or fruit and give us money. I remember when I was in high school, I earn 2 dollars or 150 peso bill every week end. when I was in elementary, during vacation, we go to our aunties rice field to gather or what we call "maki-ani" and then what I love is that, I take home a portion of what I gather.

But now, due to El Niño, a lot of farmers struggle to produce vegetables and fruits. And as we can see, inflation is very fast for raw and processed foods.

So, lets us go back to backyard gardening. lets plant our own veggies and when we eat fruit dont just throw the seeds, keep them, preserve them and when rainy season came, then throw those seeds or plant them in a vacant lot, along the road during trips for the seeds to sproud and grow. Or we can just plant them in a vase or potting bags then sell them or donate to schools and or community to plant during Arbor day.
