Calavera y rosas / Skull and roses
Hola amigos / Hello friends
Hello everyone. Today I want to share with you my pen drawing of a tattoo design that has roses and a human skull as central elements. Also a little review about the symbolism of this type of tattoo. I hope you like it.
The skull is a very powerful symbol of pirate culture, at that time, think of the pirate flag: the skull is therefore a symbol linked to the culture of the sea.
The rose also has a very deep meaning and represents in the old school tattoos the transformation of life: the rose is indeed a very beautiful flower, but to remain at the top of its bloom for a few days, before flowering and loss of petals.
The skull and the rose represent the contrast between life and death, between beauty and decadence. It is therefore a tattoo with potentially very deep meanings, which is suitable not only for those who wish to pay homage to maritime culture, but also to those who can understand the depth of life today.
