MEET ALICE; (SKETCH 001)

IMG_20210804_125842.jpg

Meet Alice,
Wondering why her mind travels so far
And her reality is out of breath barely keeping up.
Easy to have any one for company at her beck and call
But her reality is all so lonely.

Meet Alice,
A dire need to be pampered
Task of a caregiver seems overwhelming for her frail stature
Living her life for others is mentally satisfactory
But where does emotions and mind mix?

Meet Alice,
The battle of right and wrong
Constantly draining the juices of her brain.
“What would people say?”
Like a trade chart, her societal indicator.

Meet Alice,
First a Human whose choices laced with flaws
Are the fundamental basics of her character
Now judged into a shape she can almost not recognize
A far cry of reality from fantasy.

This is an Aerial perspective portrait of Alice
Below is the step by step procedure of how I made this portrait using a pelican paper and a black ball pen.

An image is a product of light. Therefore, even in sketching lighting and its management is key to produce an appealing sketch.

Bear in mind there is no light without shadows else you’d have the results of a flat surface with zero depth of field, this is why shadows are necessary even in photography.
The shadows was done with a technique called cross hash shading
