Every participant gets rewarded by curators so this is a great Oppurtunity to earn also for practicing as an artist . Because splinterlands has some of the most unique and cool characters around.

Just like every week here i'm again taking a part in this amazing contest . Today i will be drawing a Card called "Haunted Spider".

Lets discuss the character before me draw, so on the card spider has like very edgy and pointy thin limbs , which means they are dangerous and also they have a skull pattern on their body . the lower claws are silverish while the rest of the limbs is like a leather black reflective susrface . The body looks very fuzzy and is purple with 8 red eyes and two fangs so thats the basic things i have to keep in mind as i do an sketch.

Now all the characteristics that i wrote I will go to sketch according to that now you can see that I have sketched and the limbs look a bit wiggly but I will fix that when I digitally convert this sketch . I did the placement of the spider and how i wanted him to sit on a cob web . so here our initial sketch is ready . Now I will digitally convert this into a lineart so for that I am using in digital app called Medi bang paint Pro this is an app that you can use in your phone and in any device for free. Now i begin by making the torso of our spider first with a pen sharp brush and i made this on a new layer i did add some fur like lines so the body looks fuzzy , next i traced the Limbs too except the sharp claws every part where the other limb joins i made a red ball over it because the limbs in spiders have joints like this. next i add the skull pattern the eyes and sharp claws and here our basic Lineart is done and we have our character her .
the 2nd Step is Adding basic Colors so i added the flat colors to the spider i use the mid tones for this because i will be adding highlights and shading too so the Flat colors need to be neutral like this pale dull purple , the sage mint color for the claws and a dark grey for the limbs

after the Flat colors lets add some cool background to our Spider for this i used a brown and green gradient and after that i manually added som leaves to the back ground . Next i wanted a cob web that the spider was seated on and i made that cob web with a pen sharp brush and here we are . for the Final background i actually went into the saturation pallete and changed the hue a bit and i think this really suits the spider too.

Now for the Rendering part i first added some dark purple to the torso and guassian blurred it and on top i added some baby pink highlights to the opposite direction and guassian blurred it to set the layer blemding mode to screen . for the Limbs i added some white dots and lines and guassian blurred them then set them at hard lightly and they look like reflective leather details . now for the claws i did the same highlighted on side just . After this i added some more shading to the pink pattern on the spider and his eyes i made them have glow . so now that our rendering was quite done . So to finish the piece i did some light and color adjustments increased the saturation some more and added my Water mark .

Voila ! Here is the final piece and tbh i love how it turned out . participating in this contest has made me change so much and in a good way .

Thats all for today . Thankyou all for your precious time and support 🥰
