Sniper Mask
So this time i decided to draw one of my favorite characters in an anime which has an unusually weird plot. Sniper Mask a.k.a Mr. Sniper (Yuka Makoto) is one of the characters in this manga series, which revolves around a high school girl suddenly transported into world of building rooftops.
This world has masked figures whose primary goal is to push people into commiting suicide by forcing them to jump off these skyscrapers.
These manga later adapted into an anime has an immersive storyline full of mystery and surprising plot twists.
Art is drawn using my Ipad Air via the Procreate app. Different variety of tools has been used and you can see the art progression with the slides below.
- Sniper Mask started like any other masked character in the series called angel. Angels are devoid of their own reasoning and is completely under the influence of the mask. Each mask has a code imprinted on it which takes of control of the persons mind wearing it. Masks also enhances a persons physical ability as well as paint tolerance.
- Snipers mask is that of a smile category, which is the most common and is known as the battle/killing type. Every mask has a single weapon of choice, and due to his remarkable marksmanship and enhancements given by the mask, he is armed with a sniper rifle.
- Spoiler Alert - An incident transpire causing his mask to get cracked and allow him to regain consciousness.
- The central theme of this anime revolves around despair, survival and the promise of rule thru godhood. It's like Alice in borderland. Will you give kill for the sake of survival? Will you be willing to forsake others and let go of your humanity to achieve godhood?
