Jaranan dance is a traditional dance art that is played by dancers by riding artificial horses made of woven bamboo. This Jaranan dance is a very famous art in East Java, in some areas in East Java this jaranan art is still alive and preserved. One of them is Kediri district which makes this dance as a typical dance there.

Jaranan art is a dance that uses instruments in the form of woven bamboo or pandan leaves which are shaped like a horse. This jaranan dance is popular in the eastern part of Java, from Ponorogo, Kediri, Tulungagung, Nganjuk, Malang and even Banyuwangi. Some of them are indeed similar, but of course there are still some differences.
