Today’s painting features the bird known as the ‘ Saddle-billed Stork ‘ . It’s found in many countries in Sub- Saharan Africa like; South Africa, Sudan, Kenya and so on. The bird is pretty tall. Fun fact: it is considered the tallest & heaviest of the storks!
For the painting I had the idea of a pretty lady who loves animals, showing off her newest friend! “Isn’t he such a beauty!” She exclaimed

Drawing the stork was a bit confusing at first because of the ratio of the neck to the body and to its legs, it was important for the sketch to be balanced & proportional. After a few trials and errors, it worked ou!
I painted the base colors of the bird and the character, before further proceeding to put in more layers and details.
