Color Studies- A Compilation

Over the past week, I’ve been studying the relationship between complementary colors using different mediums. It’s been really fun! It also helped me understand the anatomy of the face better as well as chiaroscuro. Some of the studies came out nice, and some didn’t, but it all worked for good!

This piece was a study of the color blue and orange and their other shades and tints. This one was especially fun because I made use of pastels. I haven’t used them before until recently, so I made quite a few mistakes here and there. But I really really liked the end result!

And lastly, pink and sap green! Surprisingly the color combination turned out stunning. Red and green is one color that when used, it’s difficult for it not to look like Christmas. But when used properly, it looks mighty fine!
