My Farm and Garden Contest

It's a season of farming and been under this lockdown, it has given us the opportunity to engage in farming settling in the rural area.

Here is my Maize farm, we started cultivating the land and did the planting in March, but it's fully grown now. The land we cultivated for maize was really large and I intended to plant also soya beans in-between the maize.

This was in March when the maize had just grown and we needed to weed the farm to allow the maize grow fine. It took us about 4 days to be done with the weeding which was done by four of us.

Maize is mostly farm here in Nigeria in response to the high demand. Most of the food we eat here are product of maize grains either as a whole or grinded into flour and proceeds into different kind of African meal.

This photo was taken three weeks ago, when I visited the Farm. The maize fruit are already getting matured and I was glad to have seen it grow that fast.

Fertilizer was applied twice, though some portion of the land seem to be fertile already.
