Crisis on the roadway!

Wow its been a productive weekend. We managed to haul up 6 loads of cobblestones, while the set screw slipped in my steering column, it was an easy fix and everything was going well.

Some neighbors even collaborated with some money for gasoline, which is the first time that has happened. I was thrilled.

Usually the collaboration is limited to loading and unloading, shovelling and digging, maybe bothering the mayor or some other politician for much needed materials or assistance. Even when they just send the kids, it really is a big help.

But yesterday, in the middle of the second load, disaster struck.

Something broke, and we are not yet sure if it was one of really two possibilities. Either the pernos broke or the eje where it connects to the campana. Will have to get someone with a bit more knowledge up there to stick their head under.

I'm currently in line at the mechanic's, the best ones in town, an old guy and his son. They understand the issue and will help me soon, soon as they finish with a few other things.

I am grateful that I know enough people in this town to even have an idea of how to deal with this.

For now, our beloved Nissan awaits on the first (wicked) curve of the Camino Viejo - I will keep you all updated on our progress.
