Hoy les presento otra de mis figuras de seis pulgadas, C-3PO, versión black series. Esta figura, fue la primera de este personaje que salió para esta versión y tuvo muchas críticas porque salió con exclusividad para una tienda en Estados Unidos, Walgreens. Sin más, veamos que tiene esta figura.
Today I present another of my six-inch figures, C-3PO, black series version. This figure was the first of this character that came out for this version and had a lot of criticism because it came out with exclusivity for a store in the United States, Walgreens. Without further ado, let's see what this figure has.
Comenzando por la caja, es la última versión que hubo antes de la actual (próximamente les presentaré las nuevas cajas), la clásica caja roja con negro, con la imagen del personaje en grises por la parte delantera y en la parte trasera una pequeña biografía. Esta caja no tiene numeración porque es una figura exclusiva, solo está el nombre C-3PO. Por lo general, acompañando el nombre viene algún texto adicional, haciendo referencia si pertenece a alguna película en particular o algún momento especial de las películas. En esta figura no hay texto adicional, y serviría de apoyo para confirmar si este C-3PO es el que aparece desde el Episodio III hasta el VI.
Starting with the box, it is the last version before the current one (soon I will present the new boxes), the classic red box with black, with the character's image in gray on the front and on the back a small biography. This box has no numbering because it is an exclusive figure; there is only the name C-3PO. Usually, accompanying the name comes to some additional text, referring to if it belongs to a particular movie or a special moment of the film. In this figure, there is no other text and would serve as support to confirm if this C-3PO is the one that appears from Episode III to VI.
Esta figura, a comparación de las que ya les he compartido, no cuenta con accesorios, por lo que no me parece que tenga el mismo precio que otras figuras que cuentan con varios accesorios. Aunque, es claro, ¿qué accesorio podría tener C-3PO? 😅
Compared to the ones I've already shared with you, this figure doesn't have accessories, so I don't think it has the same price as other figures that have several accessories. Although, of course, what supplement could C-3PO have 😅
El diseño de la figura es muy bueno. Cada una de las líneas que lo componen, están bien definidas. Los paneles de su pecho y de su espalda, muy bien proporcionados. Los detalles de la cabeza y su rostro, remarcan esa mirada fuerte que lo caracteriza. En los ojos tiene pequeños círculos pintados en blanco al rededor de su pupila central, simulando que están encendidos, pero como no son tan grandes, este detalle casi no se nota.
The design of the figure is excellent. Each of the lines that compose it is well defined. The panels of his chest and back are very well proportioned. The details of the head and his face emphasize that intense look that characterizes him. The eyes have small circles painted in white around the central pupil, simulating that they are lit, but this detail is hardly noticeable as they are not so big.
Un aspecto negativo que encuentro es la pintura, ya que el dorado resulta ser muy opaco y no tiene ese brillo característico del personaje. Creo que pudieron utilizar una pintura dorado metálico para darle ese efecto, o utilizar la pintura que se utiliza en las versiones carbonizadas.
One negative aspect I find is the paint, as the gold turns out to be very opaque and doesn't have that characteristic shine of the character. I think they could have used metallic gold paint to give it that effect or used the color used on the charred versions.
Otro detalle a resaltar es la pierna plateada. Por ahí leí que mucha gente recuerda a C-3PO como un personaje que es todo dorado. Realmente, en la trilogía original, C-3PO tiene la pierna plateada. En otras series, comics y videojuegos, por alguna extraña razón lo sacaban todo de dorado. En las secuelas, tiene un brazo rojo, que por cierto, figura que tengo y que les escribiré sobre ella (aunque no hay mucha diferencia).
Another detail to note is the silver leg. I read somewhere that a lot of people remember C-3PO as a character that is all gold. Actually, in the original trilogy, C-3PO has a silver leg. In other series, comics, and video games, they took him out all gold for some odd reason. In the sequels, he has a red arm, which by the way, figure I have and will write to you about it (not much difference, though).
Los detalles de la zona de la barriga son muy buenos, tiene buen esculpido y cada cable tiene seleccionado cuidadosamente sus colores en un fondo negro. En los brazos se pueden ver sus barras hidráulicas que ayudan en el movimiento de C-3PO, estás no son totalmente rígidas, y es un detalle que se agradece, ya que podrían quebrarse con facilidad.
The details of the belly area are perfect, it has good sculpting, and each wire has carefully selected its colors on a black background. In the arms, you can see the hydraulic rods that help in the movement of C-3PO, these are not rigid, and it is a detail that is appreciated, as they could break easily.
Con respecto a la articulación, si han visto la película, habrán notado que no es un personaje que tenga muchos rangos de movimiento, pues lo mismo sucede con la figura. Tiene una articulación de 360° en la cabeza, los brazos solo se pueden mover con la articulación del hombro, cuenta con articulaciones en las muñecas, torso, piernas rodillas y tobillos. Así que, realmente solo se puede aspirar a colocarlo en poses comunes y un tanto graciosas como en la última imagen.
Regarding the articulation, if you have seen the movie, you will have noticed that it is not a character with many ranges of movement because the same happens with the figure. He has 360° articulation in the head, and the arms can only move with the shoulder joint; he has joints in the wrists, torso, legs, knees, and ankles. So, you can only aspire to place it in simple and somewhat funny poses as in the last image.
Como tal, no es una gran figura, pero es bueno tener siempre a un personaje icónico de la saga. Por ser una pieza muy básica, le pondría un 2.5 de 5, y más si se consigue a su precio original, el cual a mi gusto, es muy caro.
It is not a great figure, but it is always good to have an iconic character of the saga. For being a fundamental piece, I would give it a 2.5 out of 5, and more if you get it at its original price, which to my taste, is very expensive.
