Good News and Bad News For GTA 6

Take-Two Interactive just updated us on the status of GTA VI. While there's good news that the game's release isn't delayed, there's a bit of a catch here. The PC version might go missing in action.

According to the call with investors, the release date has still been set for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X at some point in the second half of next year. However, this is not the case with the PC version, it wasn't mentioned at all. I rely on PC versions to enjoy most games so this is sad for me.

This certainly isn't an unexpected event in its totality though. Rockstar Games has a tradition of releasing PC versions of their games much later than the console ports. Do you recall how GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 PC ports was released almost a year after the release of the first console versions? Well, this is what may happen with GTA VI as well.

The fact that there is no indication for a PC version has outraged a lot of fans including myse. Beyond frustrated, Reddit users have noted the fact that other triple-A titles with simultaneous PC releases seem to be coming out just fine, but no such date has been announced for GTA VI.

One commenter pointed out how sad it is to see the same old pattern, console gamers get the game and PC players just have to wait way too long.

It's easy to think that Rockstar is simply looking for extra cash by forcing people to buy the game twice, but it might not be that way. Usually, PC ports just take a bit longer as they need more work to get them running well. Remember how GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launched? No one wants a repeat of that stupid mess.

This could mean that, although we may not enjoy experience of GTA VI on PC immediately, it will well be worth the wait for a better experience at the end. Patience for a good thing is not easy but hopefully, it will pay off with a polished game ready to roll when it finally reaches PC.
