My Indian kitchen

Thank you dear friend @carolynstahl for invite to join to #cooking- #challenge #show #me #your #kitchen #contest. Actually I am not ready or prepare for the contest. But during our traveling to India For fun I did took some photos of our Indian kitchen to show my Norwegian friends, in my cooking class the equipment and how we do preparation in India. I am quite mixed up in cross culture and I use east and west ideas in my cooking and make fusion. I love making food so my kitchen never been tidy, always something going on in the kitchen.

Morning sun shine in the kitchen brings good energy and day starts happily from our lovely kitchen.

Our kitchen is planed and made according Indian fen-Sui Vastu shatra. We chose the south west side for kitchen which is the place for fire. According to Vastu-shatra we chose the color for kitchen ceiling is the light yellow belong to fire.the light blue on wall belong to water, and light brown tiles earth, two big windows for wind. The stove and oven located at fire place south west corner. The drinking water source comes from north east from well. We bring water every day in copper pots placed the pots at north east corner in kitchen.

The water stored in copper pots which used for making food. We have water supply from tank but we prefer to get fresh water every day for cooking and drinking(boiled and cool down)

That is our gas stove took this photo when our drinking water boiled it was still hot so stayed whole night on the gas stove.
(off course stove is switched off).

My important helper my pressure cooker saved my time and energy.

The mixer grinder the important tool for Indian cuisine.

Mortor and pestle handy when electricity disappear.

Oil can easy to use limited oil.

All rounder vegetable smasher. can used juice presser.

Different types of grabbers our old style Indian pots or pan don't have handles we use these grabbers to hold the pans when they are hot. I use for pup up my Rotis or chapatis direct on fire.

This type of Indian pots or pan need grabber or cloth to bring them down from heat.

My wooden chapati board and rolling pin.

My iron pan for pancakes and I use cut onion for brush oil on it.

My special knife for coconut grating and some leafy vegetables Which need fine cutting. I use to sit on floor to do preparation in India mostly I used stainless steel utensils in kitchen.

My iron pan which I use for cooking some vegetables or making chapatis.

While cooking can see from window whats going on in garden, watching main gate and my favorite birds activities.
