This is my publication in response to the fast and furious festival task of the theinkwell community. The festival aims to challenge writers to write at least 25 minutes a day (or more if you wish) following the day's assignments.
My task on day 4 is to work on the Story Arc
Task - Day Four Prompt - Story Arc
When talking about the structure of a short story, we tend to talk more about story arc than about plot. The reason for this is ... your story must include an arc to be effective and to leave the reader satisfied that the time it took to read your story (vs. the thousand other things he or she may have chosen instead) was worth the journey.
Ink Well Fast and Furious Festival Quote - Day Four
Each long or short story must have at least one character, a problem that the protagonist must face, an obstacle (plot), a secondary character and the resolution of the problem.
During these 4 days of the Fast and Furious Inkwell Festival, I was able to learn about the importance of character description, the environment, the different styles of writers, and finally the arc of the story.
The task of day 4 offers a series of elements to choose those that the writer likes and to arm his story, putting in practice the learned in previous days.
These were the ones I chose for my story.
A. My main character is: A rich yacht owner
B. My character's problem is: Unable to recover from a loss
C. My character is living with, encountering or at odds with: High school fling.
D. The thing preventing my character from solving their problem is: Alcoholism
Practicing what I learned on these days I share with you the following story.

The Yacht Millionaire
Breakfast is ready Mr. George, says softly the lady of the service when she knocks on the door of the cabin, she does not want to upset her boss she knows that her mood has declined in recent months.
After George the loss of her daughter, he blames herself for not having recognized her because she was the product of an affair in high school.
George found out about his girlfriend Hazel's pregnancy but doubted the feelings she claimed to have for him. He always thought that because he had an inheritance he was being sought after out of interest.
One day the phone rang, "Mr. George, I am sorry to inform you that your daughter Hazel is ill with cancer and is terminally ill in her final days, she wishes to meet you".
Without hesitation George answered his call, although he was in the Bay on his favorite yacht, the largest and most luxurious one he had, he spent his days at sea contemplating the stars alone, he liked to walk and party with friends on his yacht, at those moments he felt accepted and could show off his collection of small and large yachts, that day he was several miles away but the speed of his response was not enough to get there in time. Hazel was lying dead in the hospital
Heartbroken George immersed himself in the deceptive feeling of well-being that liquor gives, slowly ending any motivation, regretting the decision he made in his past, insecure and immature valuing the material, forgetting the most precious thing, the love of a loved one. The remorse succumbed him in a worse and worse state, he stopped bathing, with time his hair and beard grew and his millionaire appearance was lost. Only the shadows remain and the image he showed for years collapsed looking like a man lost in alcohol.
