This is Lee. He was reported missing at the age of fifteen. He has been missing for more than thirty years.
Lee has been found and he is going to meet his parents for the first time in thirty years. Your story is going to be about their reunion. Think about the setting and how you could describe it to convey how Lee or his parents are feeling. Try to include some dialogue that tells us a little about the characters of Lee, his mum and his dad.
Make a few notes about the story arc - we have three characters. Do they want to see each other? Is the long time apart an obstacle or is there another obstacle for one of the characters? How will you use the reunion to resolve the conflict created by the obstacle?

Answer

Lee's Story

With her hands on her heart and a knot in her throat, Lee's mother says "I always knew I was alive, something deep inside me I knew, I told you: ! Lee is alive! Our son is still alive, I never lost hope of embracing him again, how much suffering we have had".

Lee's father: yes, you weren't wrong, I wanted him to stay alive too, but I had to continue I couldn't stop working and living because of Lee's absence.

Can you imagine what he will feel when he sees us, we are no longer the young parents he lost, we are now two sick old men with marks on our bodies and faces that show the life we went through without him.

Look at the clock, it will soon be here, you can hear the noise of the people and the reporters all anxious to see how he is.

Lee's mother: I am nervous, how will my poor son be, I will tell him that he is still young and can start again with our support and the community.

Lee: the car is moving at great speed which is the rush to get there, it has been so long that I do not want to arrive, how much natural light, my eyes hurt but I want to look, how the city has changed, the trees are different, there are many people in the streets and I do not want to talk or see my parents or anyone really, for sure they will want to hug me, who I do to avoid that moment that must happen?.

I would like to cry, I feel guilty, I didn't want to leave them, I was a fool who let me be fooled, now I am an old man who doesn't know how to work and has no social life.

What a fuss to see me arrive, people applaud me, them takes pictures of me, I walked very fast, my body is agitated I can not breathe. They tell me that in the office there will be my mother who is crying and waiting to touch me.

I open the door and in the background, they are standing in silence with immobile bodies, old and small, is it them?

They look at each other in silence and tears start to fall to the floor, deep and slow breaths make them move their legs, they join in a strong hug and break the silence with an ¡I love you! For Lee, the fears are over and her parents' breath has returned.
