"Let's go fast, let's go to the shelter, we don't have time," Miriam told her son Brian.

The sirens rang it was a deafening noise, it made our hearts tremble our body froze whenever we heard that sound.

We ran out into the street, we only had time to grab a packet of cookies and a bottle of water the air raid was imminent in the background, explosions could already be heard, no one knew where those bombs were going to fall, the sky was lit up for a moment, it looked like rockets ripping through the sky turning night into day.
The sound of impact on the buildings around us made us fear the worst that our legs were shaking and we tried to run for cover as fast as possible.

People were running over each other in the street trying to protect themselves, finally we arrived at the shelter it was close to a subway station the sound of bombs falling on the ground seemed to get closer.

The next day there was a ceasefire for a few hours and the buses were ready to leave, women and children had priority, as well as people with disabilities and the elderly.

Brian's father was an ex-combatant, he was in war scenarios, but never in his country, never in his city.

When the war started John Brian's father immediately donned the camouflage that was in his closet at home and enlisted in the army it was time to defend his country and his homeland.

The time for departure had arrived the enemy was about to reach the city the sirens were getting louder the air defense system was still able to protect the city but only for a short time.

The farewell was harsh Brian clinging to his father John in tears did not want to leave his father and Miriam carried a backpack with some food and clothes was desolate did not want to leave her husband but they had to leave the city and look for a safe place.

Miriam got on one of the many buses parked on the avenue, children and desperate women looked out the window saying goodbye to their husbands who would stay to fight for their country.

Brian leaned against the bus window in tears blowing kisses to his father saying goodbye that no one knows if it would be a see you soon or forever the bus starts moving there is no time to waste.

Brain doesn't take his eyes off his father, he tries to follow as far as he can with his eyes as the bus starts its march.

Thousands of war-torn families in every look of those women on that bus you can see the suffering of leaving their husbands behind not knowing where they are going and if they will ever get back together.

The children's looks were no longer happy, the smiles gave way to a cold expression on their faces.

Finally, the bus crosses the border and arrives at a refugee reception site. Miriam takes out her cell phone and calls John but John doesn't answer her heart shudders the worst could have happened.
The next day, Miriam receives a call and it was John who was on the other end of the line, he was under fire and couldn't answer his cell.
Fortunately everything was fine.

John says to Miriam "Take care of our Brian one day everything will end this war and we will be together again, you have to be strong I on this side will do everything not to give up I love you".
