The Five scientists stood in front of reporters that flashed cameras at them, they were members of an organization called Avatar, they had just signed a deal with NASA to explore the earth's crust in order to find a new source of renewable energy. They had worked hard all their lives as friends and partners. Chelsea, Aaron, Gofun, Jessica and Queen had been friends from their time at MIT, so this night served as a peak of success for them. They all went home happy knowing that the next day held a lot in store for each of them.
Gofun was an African from Sudan and he went home a little drunk that day and he went home with a mysterious lady he met at the event. He had overslept but hadn't noticed due to the resounding headache he had, he woke up to see that he had been kidnapped.
A representative from NASA was sent to replace Gofun as the expedition couldn't be canceled. Kane was a young man in his early thirties, he had an oval face and a charismatic character. The group of friends thought it was weird for Gofun to go missing all of a sudden. The success of this project meant that their lives were going to change forever so they thought that imposters would want to be part of their success so each of them had their guards up.
Couple of weeks in the expedition
Kane immediately started to get close to one of the crew members Jessica, they had started to spend much time in their dorm, they always shared their food. For a couple of weeks, the radar of the ship had been picking up strange movements below the earth. But they didn't take the vibrations seriously because it was impossible for something to be so deep in the earth.
Occasionally they would make jokes of being ghost or zombies. The relationship that Kane shared with Jessica had somehow created a small rift between the crew members. They seemed to be together and yet divided as the Queen, Aaron & Chelsea felt that they spent too much time together and they didn't really bring out the best in each other. They had managed to form a love triangle in some weeks of living together as Chelsea had strong feelings for Kane and for that she was always jealous of Jessica.
The alarms blared as the whole ship shook due to the force that the creature had applied to the ship from hitting it. They all panicked as the held their breaths wishing for help to come, but there were so down in the earth nobody was here.
Chelsea said,"We shouldn't be here?, Drilling into the earth was a bad idea". Aaron spoken up,"We should abadon this stupid suicide mission and go back home". Kane raised his voice as he said,"We are not doing that." "Are you crazy we are going to die here", Aaron said.* "We are so close to finding it, I'm not going back now", Kane replied as he pulled out a weapon and threatened to take action if anybody went near any controls. Jessica was shocked to see Kane's sudden switch, she asked him "Who are you really?"
"I work for an organization that is looking for the flower of Barnabas, it is the key to immortality and this is my only chance to find it, that is the key out of poverty. I can sell that flower for billions of dollars."Kane narrated. Jessica heard him and said,"I want to join you and help you find that flower".* "Are you guys crazy!!!, there is frecking creature that wants to tear all of us apart and your worried about a stupid flower"*Chelsea said. Kane looked at Jessica with his eyes full of passion as he drew her closer and tried to kiss her. Chelsea used that opportunity to pull the release lever and the ship was split into two segments.
Aaron, Chelsea & Queen watched from a window as their crafts had been disconnected from the ship that Kane and Jessica were in. Chelsea wiped her tears because she knew that was the last day she was going to see Kane. He had given into his greed and temptations and had dragged Jessica down with him.
