Homeless

Lonely. Sadness pierced the heart of Andrew, no place to go and no place to stay. He's been dreaming of a family ever since. He had before but for some reason, all of them faded, no, he decided to forget it all. He's like a lost dog, whenever he wants to sleep he goes into random places to shelter himself. In his heart, it's too much but he has something to be protected so he decided to live alone.

A long time ago when he was young his parents and siblings were found dead. He's just lucky to survive because he was at the house of a friend. Even so, he wanted to perish as well, living in the world without loved ones was worse. He thought of killing himself but he didn't, he was a teenager back then and he thought of searching who killed his whole family. He endured the pain and decided to move on, continuing living with a feeling that the other half of his body was lying in a cemetery.

A lot of things happened and he forgot the death of his family. After studying, working, and doing his best to live, he found Asha where his heart caught through her prettiness and kindness. It was soon working very well, he forgot everyone that he wanted to spend the rest of his life loving Asha. He did, they had a beautiful daughter named Sunshine. That was the best day of his life when he saw his newly born daughter. He forgot the madness of his heart even more.

Still, as they said no one could run away from the past. When his daughter was lost when they were in a park watching animals. He panicked. He lost his temper and his past haunted him all of a sudden. He thought that what had happened in the past might happen again. He searched for his daughter wearing a desperate face. Tears and sweat showered his face eager to find his daughter.

Hours of searching for his daughter, one of the concerned citizens reported to the guardhouse about a child who kept crying. Andrew rushed immediately to the guardhouse. He cried seeing his daughter, he didn't know what he felt seeing his daughter never stopped crying.

"Don't worry, Papa is here Sunshine."

Andrew hugged his daughter tightly as if there would be no tomorrow to come for his daughter to caress. When Sunshine glanced at the face of his father he stopped crying and then Asha arrived wearing a teary face.

After a week of thinking, again and again, Andrew finally decided.

"I will never be home for a while. Don't worry I will be watching you. I have something urgent to do. Please don't forget that I love you both so much."

Asha found a note on the table when she woke up and she didn't find Andrew.

Even though it is painful for Andrew to stay away from his family. He thought of keeping his distance from them or the same would happen in the past. Of course, there were no nights he didn't think of his family from a distance. Sometimes sleepless nights arrived when he felt crazy thinking about his wife and daughter. He just endured it because he wanted to clarify something.

His place to go is not far from his house but to avoid the presence of his wife and daughter or else his plan will be ruined. Sometimes he disguised himself while roaming around his house hoping to find something or learning about something.

Although that was not enough, he went back to the police station again. The last time he was being ignored because he was just a young boy and had no money in his pocket to learn more about the crime. At last, he found a lead because his friends that he visited during the incident became an investigator. His friend promised him to catch the one who killed his family.

When he went outside at the police station a billboard that welcomed him fell in front. A strong wind blew and he almost flew away because of it. Following the heavy rain with bigger pieces each unlike a normal drop of the rain. Then everyone is shouting that a strong typhoon has arrived. He forgot about it, no, he didn't mind it because he was too focused on his own problems. Then all of a sudden, he felt like a bell rang in his head.

"My family?"

He arrived in front of his house but the wind was so strong, the rain was so heavy that it made the surroundings very dark. He had a hard time locating the locations of his house.

"Awww"

He heard the bark of their dog named Coby. That led him to find his house by keeping listening to the sound of that bark. He found his dog outside their house and released it immediately.

"Go outside Coby."

He was surprised when Coby went running inside instead. He follows his dog with worries in his heart because the roof of his house tumbles down. Even so, he remains brave for his wife and daughter. Thanks to Coby he found his wife and daughter immediately.

"Andrew."

Asha hugged Andrew immediately while crying because he missed Andrew so much.

"Let's go outside first."

They immediately went outside and found a safer place. Being in a safe place their emotions flow like endless rain. They let it out like rain pouring from both of their eyes. No words to be found, they're only hugging each other tightly. The type of hug that feels like never happens again.

The super typhoon passed and so what's stopping Andrew to be with his wife and daughter. The investigator friend of Andrew relayed about what happened to that suspected person who killed his parents and siblings. His friend couldn't find a reason why that person committed such a crime. He only learned that the person was a drug addict. He might have killed his parents because of being influenced by the drugs. Unfortunately, Andrew doesn't have the chance to meet that person because he was killed before they attempted to capture him. He was firing with a pistol so the investigator with his men fired back and ended up killing that person.

The result was so tragic but still, Andrew feels relieved that there would be no serious threat to his family. He stopped being homeless and returned to his home where his wife and daughter were waiting for him.
