Ryan And The Magical Life || Inkwell Prompt #55

If there was an award to be given to the most dullard that ever went to school, Ryan would have won so many awards. He was the full definition of imperfections and sometimes referred to as "An Omen Child". People around wished he was never born like it had anything to do with them.

Ryan grew up with his mother who was believed to have made her son inherit her bad features especially the feature of being a dullard. Ryan's mother would always pray that her son never be like her but it only got worse for her son.

While everyone else was living fine and comfortable, Ryan and his mother lived alone in poverty in a very small hut. Ryan's mother, Eva worked different jobs to send Ryan to school even though she knew Ryan's brain was not made for studies. Ryan was never late to school but he was always found lost in class, not knowing what was being taught.

The kids at school would laugh at Ryan but for some psychological reasons, Ryan never felt bad about any of it. He just kept being a playful young man who loved his mother so much.

On a normal day when Ryan was busy with delivering newspapers to houses, he met an old lady carrying a heavy load and tried to help her but she ran off so he doesn't touch her and in the process, the woman left a pair of glasses on the floor.

Ryan wanted to walk away from the glasses but thought about returning it to the woman as it looked really beautiful on the floor.

These pair of glasses are so beautiful, I'm sure she wouldn't want to lost this... I need to return it to her. Ryan said to himself with the glasses in his hand.

He ran off to find the old woman but couldn't find her, Ryan thought it wouldn't be nice to take it for himself but he felt tempted to wear it to see how it looked on him. Ryan decided to take the glasses home and keep it safe waiting for the day he would meet the old woman again.

It was a new day and as usual, Ryan woke up very early to begin his work and while he was getting ready, he saw the glasses looking beautiful as it had always been and he put them on to look at the mirror. All Ryan saw after he put on the glasses were an opposite of his situation.

His supposed old and dusty mirror was looking shiny and colorful. His face was so handsome, his tattered wears looked expensive and beautiful, his untidy small room became so big and majestic, the atmosphere changed and everything seemed perfect from where he was.

He ran out of his room still with the glasses on to look for his mother and she came out of her room smiling happily to give him a hug. Ryan was surprised by what he saw, their small hut was a mansion with so many maids and lots of food with a huge garden outside. Eva, his mother wasn't acting like anything was wrong with the whole thing unlike how Ryan was feeling.

How is this possible? What's going on?

Ryan kept asking until he removed the glasses from his eyes and he realized everything was back to what he knew... The poverty stricken hut with his mother and his dull brain in his head.

Ryan immediately understood that he had been blessed with glasses that had magical lens where he get to see what he wished for his family. Ryan was so happy and grateful for the gift from the old woman.

He decided to have the glasses on through out his lifetime, he grew old in his magical perfect life with his mother who later died and was laid to rest in diamonds. Ryan lived the magical life until he didn't realized that he was actually living without the glasses on.

Ryan's life in the magic world became his reality and he later found out he could continue living without putting on the glasses. The old woman came to find her glasses after so many years, still looking old and not aging. Ryan gave the glasses back to her and she said to him with a smile.

This pair of glasses were made for only you, I'm glad you found me and the glasses.
