Emily's Aunt.

It was a beautiful day in the small town of Meadowbrook, the sun was shining and the birds were singing. The kind of day that made you feel alive and full of hope for the future. But for Emily, this was just another day. Just another day of being lonely and staying indoors.

Emily was a young woman in her early twenties, with long, curly hair and bright green eyes. She had always been a bit of a loner, preferring to spend her time reading or drawing rather than socializing with others. This had led to a lack of trust in others, as she had never really felt like she fit in with anyone. That aside Emily was a perfectionist. She absolutely love things to be done accordingly.

But on this particular day, Emily's life was about to change forever. She had received an invitation in the mail from her estranged aunt, inviting her to come and stay with her for the summer. Emily was hesitant at first, as she had not seen or spoken to her aunt in over ten years. But something about the invitation made her feel like she needed to take the chance. Of course that was her favorite aunt she had learnt her honesty and perfectionism from her. So she longed going there

So, with a mix of excitement and nerves, Emily packed her bags and headed off to her aunt's house in the countryside. When she arrived, she was greeted by a beautiful, sprawling estate nestled in the rolling hills. Emily was immediately struck by the peacefulness of the place, and as she walked up to the front door, she couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. She knew her aunt to herich but not this rich to have bought an estate. Was it the salary she got from being a government agent incharge of revenue in the community that could have built her aunt such a gigantic building, Emily thought.

Her aunt, a kind and gentle woman with a warm smile, greeted her with open arms. "Welcome home, Emily," she said, hugging her tightly. "I'm so glad you came."

Over the next few weeks, Emily began to open up and trust her aunt more and more. They spent their days exploring the beautiful gardens and countryside, and Emily even started to make friends with some of the local kids. She felt like she was finally starting to find her place in the world.

But despite the happiness she was feeling, Emily couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she just had this nagging feeling that something was not quite right.

One day, while out on a walk with her aunt, Emily finally mustered up the courage to ask her about it. "Auntie, can I ask you something?" she said hesitantly.

Her aunt looked at her with a kind smile. "Of course, dear. What is it?"

"Well," Emily said, taking a deep breath. "I just can't shake this feeling that something is off. I can't explain it, but I just feel like knowing if you don't mind. How did you make so much money to buy yourself an estate and expensive cars?."

Her aunt's smile faded slightly, and she looked away. "Oh, Emily," she said softly. "There are some things that are better left unsaid."

Emily's heart sank. She knew that her aunt was hiding something, and it only made her mistrust grow. She spent the next few days trying to gather more information, but her aunt was always one step ahead, dodging her questions and changing the subject whenever she brought it up.

Finally, Emily had had enough. She decided that she needed to take matters into her own hands and find out the truth for herself.

One night, while her aunt was out at a social event, Emily snuck into her room and began searching through her things. She knew it was wrong, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was not right.

After what felt like hours, Emily finally found what she was looking for - a hidden drawer in her aunt's desk that was locked with a key. She searched the room for a key, and after a few minutes of searching, she finally found it hidden inside the drawer was nothing but some files. And inside the file was proof of how her aunt was siphoning public money which she was in charge of. That was why the kids stared at her in an awful way whenever the walked by.

She wondered how get aunt would betray the trust of the people that voted her into power to serve them. The next day Emily packed her bags and left her aunt's house. She wasn't going to stay with a public thief.
