Michael Reeves and Jane Farrow were a young couple full of zest for life. They had been married for a year. Michael, an architect, had won the green architecture award. This brought him immediate fame. New and excellent work contracts followed. Jane, on the other hand, belonged to a community of painters called ingenuos ..... They decided to open their own art gallery. There they would hold exhibitions and sell their works.

The couple was fascinated by adventure and travel. Every year they vacationed abroad, somewhere far away on the planet.....After their last trip, to Singapore, they brought back new ideas for their professions. This increased their income considerably. They were now financially stable. In addition, they had designed their dream house in an ecological village. They inaugurated it in January 2015. There, in the warmth of the new home, they would meet and talk about introspection...... One weekend they decided to talk about their immediate personal plans.... the community garden, their upcoming vacation, visiting their parents, using solar panels for the whole village, and recycling.

Jane prepares, for that occasion, a rich snack with sweet cakes, ricotta cheese, and a tasty coffee, espresso, as Michael likes. They began the conversation with the agreed points, and suddenly Jane commented:

  • I already feel fulfilled as an artist, I would like to have children, what do you think Michael?

Poor Michael, concentrating on savoring his cake, choked. He hadn't expected that comment from his wife. He recovers and says:

-I'm fine with that, but we'd have to take care of that matter quickly. We are already 40 years old. Pregnancy must be strictly supervised. Would you be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen?

-Yes, yes, yes, yes, Jane answers.

-Perfect, Mrs. Jane, then I invite you to start tonight and let's share a frenzied passion... by the light of the moon and the stars,- Michael adds.

Jane is excited. That night she wants to look radiant for her husband. Although it is a full moon she decides to propose a swim in the pool as a prelude to love....... She doesn't mind being seen....It was 8 o'clock at night.... they jumped into the pool. Their naked bodies burned with passion that they enjoyed to the point of satiation.

That ritual they would perform from time to time, in addition to the exercises to look for the baby. Months went by..... Jane did not get pregnant. They decided to consult the doctor.

-Oh! An unexpected answer, for both of them, came from the lips of Dr. Clark Gibson:

-I don't know how to tell you this. I know how long you waited for everything to be perfect, to have children..... but I have to tell you that you are both infertile. I am sorry. Meditate on this answer and, perhaps in the near future, you will want to adopt a baby.

The couple received the news stoically. They left the office. A cab took them to their residence. Not a word was said during the ride. That night they both cried their sadness and helplessness......

Two months passed since they received that news. Both were still immersed in sadness. Their friends tried to console them and advised them to seek different kinds of help: psychologists, meditation, support groups, their church of choice......

Jane was the first to decide; she started attending a nearby church, although she didn't like the idea very much. Jane flatly refused. Later she enrolled in meditation groups. She decided to stay in the church and do her meditations, which gave her peace of mind.

In a flash of inner light she felt like going abroad. The idea came to him to go to Tibet and visit its monasteries. It seemed far-fetched to her, she was afraid to propose it to her husband. She took courage and decided to prepare lunch for Saturday. She prepared his favorite dish, sirloin Wellington, which she served with a special red wine. When they finished, she brought him coffee and told him:

-What do you think if we go on vacation to Tibet?
Her husband loved her madly, so as not to antagonize her, he said to her:

-What do you know about that country?

-Nothing, Jane answered sparingly.

-Well, find out as much as you can. Then we will decide the date .....

Jane was speechless with emotion. She only managed to give him a kiss.

She quickly began to research about this country, which had never been among her plans. She decided to let herself be guided by that little light that, was beginning to show up inside her ......

With everything ready .... she prepared the itinerary. Her husband was exhausted from so much work, so he thought that maybe this would be the best vacation of him life.

They leave for Tibet. Upon arrival they stay in a centrally located hotel in Lhasa. There they rest for two days. Then they would begin the pilgrimage to the different monasteries. But there was one that caught Jane's attention, he missed it. He had never been interested in anything esoteric, religious and much less in that remote country. They visited several monasteries, in all of them they received spiritual teachings and their monks transmitted an infinite peace. The last monastery to visit was the one that fluttered in Jane's head.

They arrived at the Sera Monastery. There they are received by an abbot who would be their spiritual director and interpreter. All wonderful..... Peaceful ..... One evening Jane went to bed. For a moment she fell asleep and was awakened by a light, huge and bright, fluttering in her room. Jane didn't understand anything. She got out of bed. The light was still fluttering but, this time, it went out of the room. Jane unconsciously decided to follow it ...... She didn't realize that she was going out to places forbidden to tourists .......

She stumbles upon a monk, the monk tells her something she does not understand..... her intuition tells her to follow him. So she did and arrived where the abbot was. He was waiting for her.
There he explained to Jane her life mission.

-Daughter, you come from far away. You have an important mission in your life: to adopt a baby.
.
Jane is surprised. ..... does not speak. The abbot continues:

-I'm going to show you the baby. Carry him in your arms and then tell me about your feelings.

So it was done. Janine touched the child and saw a flash of light coming from the baby's heart. Emotions galloped..... did not know how to define them..... was something indescribable.

The abbot turned to her again:

-That is your spiritual child. That is why you could not have children. Your mission is to take that child to the West. He will bring peace and spiritual teachings to the nation where you live.

Before Jane asks, the abbot replies:

-You will have all the legal papers in a week. All the monks will be praying for you.
