I selected this item because it seemed to me that it could give some suspense to the plot and give more entertainment to the reading public.
The title of my story is: the tunnel of time.

Now the story:
The Smith family lives in a town half an hour from the city and lives in an old 19th century house. It has been passed down from generation to generation. Its current owners, Peter and Salma, have 3 children who live with them: Elizabeth, Ruth and Anthony. Elizabeth is the youngest, she is studying History and Art at the university, Ruth has just graduated as a veterinarian and Anthony is an engineer specialized in communications.
To celebrate their graduation, Ruth and her siblings decided to invite their closest friends, Kent, Anna and Franco, to a picnic in the basement. They wanted to do something different.........
The talkative and restless Beth, as Elizabeth is affectionately called, set out their snack. It would consist of savory snacks. It would include different flavors to please all tastes: ham, cheeses, sausage, some exotic spreads and of course the provocative and delicious chocolate cake, known to all, which they had named Beth cake in honor of its author.
Ruth called her friends to let them know that the meeting would take place at 9 a.m., so that they would have enough time to talk. That was the pretext to show them the table, which was at the end of the basement, and which she suspected was a secret passage to another place. Ruth would never dare say anything until they were all assembled.
Knock, knock, knock. Kent knocks on the door. Mrs. Smith opens the door. She greets Kent, Anna and Franco and leads them down to the basement to join her children.
-Thank you for coming. I'll leave you two alone, I have to go shopping in town.
Ruth makes sure her mother has left and tells her friends:
-Hurry up, let's look at the board and you tell me if you think the same as I do.
Anthony removes the board and they all thought there was a tunnel, but it was dark. Elizabeth says to them:
-What do we do?
To which Franco replies:
-Imagine that we are going on an adventure trip. Let's go into the tunnel.
-Yes, that would be interesting," Anna replies enthusiastically.
Kent intervenes: -We have to take our snacks, water, flashlights, cell phones because we don't know what awaits us in the tunnel.
-Well, let's hurry up," said Anthony.
With everything ready, they enter the tunnel. After 15 minutes of walking, they see a faint light. They continue advancing and observe that the tunnel divides in two, one part to the left and the other to the right. '
-What do we do now?" asks Anna.
-I suggest that we divide into two groups; that way we can exchange experiences and then we can repeat the trip," answered Anthony.
Everyone agreed.
Ruth, Franco and Anna went to the left; the rest went to the right.
The group on the left continued walking and came across a canoe near a small river. They decide to get in it and paddle to explore where the river would take them.
-Look, over there, it looks like an island," Ruth points out.
Anna chimes in - Oh! oh! And it looks like it's inhabited too. Please, Franco, look through the binoculars.
Franco, passionate about indigenous cultures, gets excited and says:
-Yes, let's go there to meet them. It looks like a tribe lost in time.
When they reached the shore, they approached the natives, all naked, but when they saw them, they began to shoot arrows at them. They all ran terrified towards the boat. The natives rush around the boat.
They look at each other's faces and say, "We have no escape:
-We have no escape, we are lost!
But..... suddenly a scent reassures them, it is a smell of roses, and at the same time they are enveloped in a white mist. They appear later, they don't know how, safe and sound at the beginning of the tunnel. None of them speak, they just decide to run back to the basement of the house to tell their experience to the other group.
Anthony, Kent and Elizabeth continued their walk. Apparently they were luckier. They get a rocket on the side of the road. They stop and Elizabeth says:
-It reminds me of the Apollo 11 mission. What do you say we see if we can get inside?
-Okay," answer Anthony and Kent.
Once inside the spacecraft they see strange equipment they don't recognize or have never seen before. The simplest thing they found were some devices that they put on their heads, like headbands, with headphones and three-dimensional visors.
When they put them on, they immediately heard a voice telling them:
-You are going to know the moon and everything that happens there that the media do not say.
They all watch in real time what is happening and the most impressive thing is that they saw that the moon is inhabited by tall, olive-skinned beings with large heads, who speak to them in their own language and tell them that they are observing what will happen in the year 2060.......
Shortly after, the transmission is cut off and that mysterious voice tells them:
-Go away, they will communicate with you later-.......
They go back through the tunnel and when they do not get their friends they decide to return to the basement.
All together they commented on their experiences. They all agreed and concluded that the tunnel takes them to the past or to the future, depending on the path they decide to take; but they are left with the doubt if the tunnel transports them to a parallel world or if there is something unknown that allowed them to travel in time-........

Seleccioné este ítem porque me pareció que podía dar algo de suspenso a la trama y dar más entretenimiento al público lector.
El título de mi historia es: el túnel del tiempo.
La familia Smith vive en un pueblo que queda a media hora de la ciudad y habita en una antigua casa del siglo XIX. Esta fue heredada de generación en generación. Sus actuales dueños, Peter y Salma, tienen 3 hijos que viven con ellos: Elizabeth, Ruth y Anthony. Elizabeth es la menor, estudia en la universidad Historia y Arte, Ruth acaba de graduarse de veterinaria y Anthony es ingeniero especializado en comunicaciones.
Para celebrar la graduación, Ruth y sus hermanos, decidieron invitar a sus amigos más cercanos, Kent, Anna y Franco, a una merienda en el sótano. Querían hacer algo diferente………
La parlanchina e inquieta Beth, como llaman cariñosamente a Elizabeth, dispuso su merienda. La misma consistiría de bocadillos salados. Incluiría diferentes sabores para complacer todos los gustos: jamón, quesos, salchichón, algunas cremas exóticas para untar y por supuesto la provocativa y deliciosa torta de chocolate, conocida por todos, la cual habían bautizado como torta Beth en honor a su autora.
Ruth llama a sus amigos para participarles que la reunión se realizaría a las 9 de la mañana, de manera de tener tiempo suficiente para conversar. Ese era el pretexto para mostrarles la tabla, que estaba al final del sótano, y que ella sospechaba era un pasadizo secreto a otro lugar. Ruth nunca se atrevería a decir nada hasta que estuvieran todos reunidos.
Toc, toc, toc. Llama Kent a la puerta. Abre la Señora Smith. Saluda a Kent, a Anna y a Franco y los lleva al sótano a reunirse con sus hijos.
-Gracias por venir. Los dejo solos, yo tengo que ir de compras a la ciudad.-
Ruth se cerciora que su madre se halla marchado y les dice a sus amigos:
-Apúrense, vamos a ver la tabla y ustedes me dirán si opinan lo mismo que yo-
Anthony retira la tabla y a todos les pareció que había un túnel, pero estaba oscuro. Elizabeth les dice:
-¿Qué hacemos?-
A lo que Franco responde:
-Imagínense que vamos a realizar un viaje de aventura. Entremos al túnel-
-Sí, sería interesante- contesta entusiasmada Anna.
Kent interviene: -tenemos que llevarnos la merienda, agua, linternas, teléfonos móviles porque no sabemos que nos espera en el túnel-.
-Bien, apurémonos- acota Anthony.
Ya con todo preparado entran al túnel. Al transcurrir 15 minutos, caminando, divisan una tenue luz. Siguen avanzando y observan que el túnel se divide en dos, una parte a la izquierda y otra a la derecha. ´
-Y ahora, ¿qué hacemos?- pregunta Anna
-Yo sugiero que nos dividamos en dos grupos; así después intercambiamos las vivencias y luego podríamos repetir el viaje- contesta Anthony.
Todos estuvieron de acuerdo.
Ruth, Franco y Anna siguieron por la izquierda; el resto a la derecha.
El grupo de la izquierda siguió caminando y se encontró una canoa cerca de un pequeño río. Deciden montarse en ella y remar para explorar a donde los llevaría el río.
-Miren, allá, parece una isla- señala Ruth
Anna le repica – ¡Oh! ¡oh! Y también parece que está habitada. Por favor, Franco, mira por los binoculares-
Franco, un apasionado por las culturas indígenas, se emociona y dice:
-Sí, vamos allá para conocerlos. Parece una tribu perdida en el tiempo.-
Al llegar a la orilla, se acercaron a los nativos, todos desnudos, pero estos al verlos comenzaron a dispararle flechas. Todos corrieron despavoridos hacia el bote. Los nativos se apresuran a rodear el bote.
Se ven las caras unos a otros y dicen:
-No tenemos escapatoria. ¡Estamos perdidos!.-
Pero…..de repente un aroma los tranquiliza, es un olor a rosas, y al mismo tiempo se ven envueltos en una neblina blanca. Aparecen posteriormente, no saben como, sanos y salvos al comienzo del túnel. Ninguno habla, solo decidieron regresar corriendo al sótano, de la casa, para contar su experiencia al otro grupo.
Anthony, Kent y Elizabeth por su lado prosiguieron su caminata. Aparentemente fueron más afortunados. Consiguen un cohete en un borde del camino. Se detienen y Elizabeth dice:
-Me recuerda a la misión Apolo 11. ¿Qué les parece si vemos si podemos entrar?-
-De acuerdo-, contestan Anthony y Kent.
Ya adentro de la nave ven implementos extraños que no reconocen o que nunca vieron. Lo más sencillo que encontraron fueron unos aparatos que se colocaron en la cabeza, a manera de cintillos, con audífonos y visores tridimensionales.
Al colocárselos inmediatamente escuchan una voz que les dice:
-Van a conocer la luna y todo lo que ocurre allá que los medios de comunicación no dicen.-
Todos miran en tiempo real lo que ocurre y lo más impresionante es que vieron que la luna está habitada por seres de alta estatura, de piel aceitunada, con cabezas grandes, que les hablan en su mismo idioma y les indican que están observando lo que pasará en el año 2060……
Al poco tiempo se corta la transmisión y esa voz misteriosa les dice:
-Váyanse, ellos se comunicarán con ustedes posteriormente-…….
Se regresan por el túnel y al no conseguir a sus amigos deciden regresar al sótano.
Ya todos juntos comentaron sus experiencias. Todos estuvieron de acuerdo y concluyeron que el túnel los lleva al pasado o al futuro, según el camino que decidan tomar; pero les queda la duda si el túnel los transporta a un mundo paralelo o si hay algo desconocido que les permitió viajar en el tiempo……..
