The last time I saw you
You were playing with the other kitties.
You all looked so silly, cramped into that new box.
You, Grumpy, Midnight, and Twilight,
As Bashful teases you all to my delight.
I wished then that I had taken photos
To remember that moment by
Little did I know that night, you'd say goodbye.
It broke my heart to find you there,
You looked like you were asleep under the stairs.
Perhaps we'll never know who hurt you so,
Such cruel fate to see you go.
Rest well, our little Playful.
Take your place among the stars.
And if, indeed, cats have nine lives,
Then, it's not goodbye, but see you soon.

A tribute to our little kitty Playful
Author's note: I'm still a bit sad and angry over this incident that happened Friday night. I simply chose to rechannel that energy into creating something positive. I will leave it to the universe to give the justice that Playful deserves.
