The ink well fiction prompt#7: The portal

Clinton's daughter Elizabeth stood at the doorpost in the library and glanced around the old wall, dirt-covered the books that were roughly spotted on the woody shelves, some torn by rodents, and others seemed to be neatly conserved. She was a young beautiful lady who likes to study scientific discoveries, it was for this reason that her dad showed her his hidden library located on the outskirt of England. Her face lightened as she perceived how filled the library was with her favorite scientific books. Carefully she walked on the weak planks avoiding resting her full weight on them. She walked in the rows along the shelves in the library and wondered how beautiful it must have been before now.

She was jerked by some noise that seeped from the back of the shelf, the shadow of a weird creature cast itself where she stood. Her heartbeat increased as she took faster steps to come to a safer place when she strumbled, sending her full weight to the ground. Quickly she stood to her feet about to run when she realized she had forgotten to pick the book she selected. She heads back tiptoeing and peeping at the openings between shelves to ensure she was safe before taking any step further, unsure of the book position, she started picking books.

There was a cracking sound as she pulled a book on the sixth shelf, she withdrew back and realized it was a portal leading to a different location.
"Where is this" she mumbled to herself.
She walked past the door, and on the other side was a wonderland. It was beautiful and everyone forgets every sad emotion plaguing them as soon as they enter that portal, this same happened to Elizabeth as she got lost in the beauty of the wonderland. She could only think of a reason for her dad to build such a world- To forget the hurtful feelings of his late wife. In the imagined world of Clinton were a Statue of happy people and everything he couldn't get in the real world as a scientist.

It was time to return, Elizabeth looked around searching for the portal she had come through but the door was no longer in sight. She lifted every object she saw hoping it would be the key to the door but all failed. Her adrenaline rose, her eyes became teary as she moved to and fro. It was growing cold and her body could no longer adapt. suddenly her dad appeared out of space.
"Dad, you found me"
She said hugged him. "I couldn't go out"

He said nothing and in few minutes they were back in the library.
"Be careful with these books" pointing at a particular shelf.
"Who built the world outside the library?" She asked
"I did, the world helped me believe everything is possible" he replied
" I couldn't come out as I went through," Elizabeth said.
" That's because your mindset was still attached to that of the world, whenever you believe not everything is possible, it returns you to this world"
She held her mouth in surprise, "what a mystery" she thought. Elizabeth started to invest her time in the wonderland whenever she wanted to take the motivation that everything was possible.
