In her eyes//The inkwell writing prompt

Six years later in Singapore, Gabrielle sat on the same train station staring into empty space. It was October 9, 2 o'clock, the exact date and time she had seen in her dream. "This wasn't happening," she mumbled. Every event that played afterward was like a repetition of that which she had seen six years ago. The girl with the blue eyes, the busy and dazed crowd in the subway, the cracked floor, and the strange beings alighting from the train, "I had seen these before," she said. Soon everyone was on their heels, before she could make any sense of what was happening, the little girl with the blue eyes held her in her hands and started to run.

"What's wrong?" she asked the blue-eyed girl when they'd come to a stop.

"The lens, as long as the transparent crystal in my eyes remains blue, the monster lives on" she said, one could sense fear in her eyes. "Please, remove the blue lens, it was fixed to me," she added. Once again Gabrielle recalled this moment, removing the lens would only bring a curse worse than the monsters that had occupied the city. It was just a few hours since the monsters had invaded the city, the street was desolate, silence filled the air except for the groaning of the beast.

"I can't help you" Gabrielle said, she peeped through the opened window of the abandoned building where they're hiding "these monsters has just three months to live, removing the lens in your eyes would kill the monsters but in the same three months, a stronger force would appear, much stronger than this monsters in existence, the only choice we have is to keep running"

"Who are you?How come you know so much about these monsters?" the blue-eyed girl asked.

"That's not necessary for now".

"The screaming and groaning of the beast is hurting my head, please pull this lens"

"That's what they want, but it's a choice, remove it and be free for three months or suffer the torment and be free forever" Gabrielle said. The little girl looked at the shattered ceilings in the abandoned building where they're hiding, the paintings were old, on the floor were fallen woods, decayed and cobweb whorled on the door that led to the other room, how long can she endure this torment, she asked herself. It's been just two weeks into hiding but the screaming and groaning in her head was already making her go crazy, maybe she should just relieve herself of this present pain then prepare for that which will come in the future.

Two months and 29 days have passed, Gabrielle and the blue-eyed girl are still in hiding. "By tomorrow, the monsters would be like shattered glasses on the floor" she said pointing at the floor.

"I can't wait for this lens to fall off, I can't bear the torment for one extra day".
