My Parent's Wish Fulfilled
Joe is a young guy who has been looking for a child after he has been married to Folake. They have been married for twelve years now and have stayed without a child. Joe's parents got frustrated and told him to either leave his wife for another woman or.get himself a second wife.
Joe has been someone his parents love so much and does not joke with. His parents told him to give them a grandchild or children as they were ready to see their grandchildren before they leave this world happily. You should know that we are getting old and so, we must see our grandchildren before we join our ancestors. Joe's parents told Joe. Joe responded to his parents to please exercise patience. He told them that "God is the one who gives children but not human beings." So, please, mum and dad, be patient as it will soon be alright.
After a year of patience, Joe's parents told Joe to bring his wife to a place where they will perform some rituals so that she will get pregnant on time. She was fortified in a river and was given something that she will take daily. This was done and she was taking those things continuously until the medicine she was given was not finished. Folake was expecting to be pregnant but after some months, nothing and no sign was seen. Joe told her to stop thinking about not having a child that one day, God will answer their prayers.
One fateful day, Folake went to the church to pray when the pastor of the nearby church she went to told her that she will be pregnant with a boy in the next two months. The pastor told her not to let anyone know except his husband. The pastor also said to her "this is what my God told me to tell you. So, be expectant and also prayerful. Remember that I did not know you, but just saw you today coming to my church.
Four weeks after the pastor's vision, Joe's mother came again to the house forcing her son's wife out of the house. Joe could not say a word but told the wife to maintain as he can never allow her out of his house. Joe began to beg the mother to let her wife be as Folake is his wife and that she should not make the house uncomfortable for her. So, Folake began to cry bitterly and was about to leave when she immediately rushed to the bathroom vomiting. Her vomit sent a special message to Joe's mum with her experience with pregnant women. Joe's mum began to smile and rushed to Folake telling her she was so sorry. She was happy with what she saw which got Joe surprised. Joe began to have a deep thought about what could have made his mum have a second thought and again smiled after bragging about trying to send his wife away. What would my mum see for this sudden change? Joe asked himself.
So, it was a success as she went back home smiling but did not say a word to his son, Joe. She told her husband after getting home that they will be grandparents soon. Joe's dad was very elated for what he had heard.
After eight months, Folake gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. This made Joe's parents extra happy.
