James never knew it would be a day of double joy for him as he prepared for their dinner party after college. He was so engrossed with his outfit that he has refused to eat neither breakfast nor lunch but he was alone in his room thinking of how college life has been.
Everything came into play in his head as he remember how hard he struggled to get his name on the admission list and also to provide for himself throughout the academic year.
It was a bitter sweet experience and he could not withhold the tears that roll out from his eyes.
"This is a tear of joy", he said to himself.
In a flash, all his fantasy came to an end as he remembered that today might be last day he would ever see Jane.
Jane was her course mate in school who he is fond of but because of his situation he could not open his mouth to reveal his feelings.
Even if he should do that, the fear of rejection would not let him proceed further.
"What if I told her and she cut ties with me?" This has been the question that ways put a full stop to any attempt made by James while in school.
He will further add to it that, I did not have the time and also I will not be able to take good care of her. I am just trying to survive.
And that's true.
James lost her parent to a fatal accident after his high school and all his relatives who he thought who be there for him were no where to be found when he needed them but after his parent's demise, they all promised heaven on earth only to abandon him.
There is even one of his uncle who he called and told him, I did not know any James maybe you called a wrong number.
After this statement, James made up his mind never to depend on any of his relatives but rather he will do all he can to make life a better place for himself.
This thought alone made him to seek out for opportunities and he was able to hold on to the little that came his way.
One of the opportunity was Jane who always tip him money anytime she noticed that he is not in good mood.
Jane understand that James was really trying to meet ends need and whenever he is not doing good financially that's when he will withdraw from everyone.
This continued and now they are both done with college and going for a dinner party that was organised.
Left to James alone, he would have sit at home and enjoy movie or sleep because he could not afford the dinner party on his own and besides he could use the money to feed himself for a week rather than impressing others at the detriment of his own lifestyle but all thank to Jane who supported him and also got him a nice outfit.
It is a dinner and not a lecture as usual, so he is expected to look good. 😘😘😘
While in his room, his phone brought him back to life.
It was Jane calling.

I am about to leave home now. Hope you are ready as well.
James smiled and said, I am prepared as well and I will be leaving home soon.
He dressed up and head straight to the venue.
As he was about to enter the auditorium, he called Jane to confirm where she was sitting but she did not pick her call.
James entered and was looking like a lost sheep. He was taking a step at a time as he looked around.
He reached for his phone and called Jane again. She picked but the sound from the speaker was the only thing they can hear from the other side of the phone.
James was about to go out when he felt a smooth and soft touch. A thousand thought ran through his head as he made a move to turn around.
Lo and behold, he was welcomed with a hug from the person he loved.
His heart skipped like four beats and he was already sweating profusely under the cold condition of the hall. 😂😂😂
After about an hour in the hall, Jane signaled James for them to go out.
Luckily there was a cool spot with a chair under a tree outside the hall and they took their seat.
Let's play a game. Jane said.
Which game? James asked.
Truth or Dare.
Okay, no problem. James replied.
It took them several minutes before they could decide who will start the game but Jane won with the saying, ladies first.
Jane was the one to start and she asked James whether he want to say the truth or dare her.
Truth and nothing but the truth... James said.
Do you love me? Jane asked.
James stood there physically but in his mind he has traveled a thousand mile...
Jane asked the second time, do you love me?
James was brought back to reality by the question when Jane asked the second question time.
James knew he was trapped so he muster the little courage in him and said yes like a whisper.
Jane acted as if she did not hear and thus time around, James was able to talk and even explain to her how he has been hiding the feeling for so long.
The story was as if it was not going to end until Jane kissed James.
After the moment, Jane looked up and signal James to look up.
James exclaimed and said, this full moon shall be the evidence of our love.
Jane also said, the end of our college marks the beginning of our love story.
The new lover spent most of the time chit chatting during the dinner.
