The Vatican guards, also called Swiss guards, are not very impressive with their puffy colored uniforms, but they are apparently carefully selected and very competent.
But frankly a guard in medieval armor it has a hell of an effect, I propose the comparison on this image, it is up to you to make your own opinion.
I had the opportunity to pass to the Vatican during a trip to Rome, it is a very particular atmosphere, and I liked the folkloric aspect of the guards along with the thousands of other tourists 😕
