Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Table View with another WEEKEND EXPERIENCE in the form of a Open Mic, right here on the West Coast of Cape Town, South Africa.

We are talking about the Salt and Sage restaurant in Table View hosting the second Open Mic presented by Matt Roux! @matthewjohnroux (He's not active yet, but he has a Hive account!)

Down with the Sickness

Unfortunately, @clairemobey could not be at the Open Mic, she was set to perform alongside @jasperdick as usual but caught a bad strain of sinubronchitis!

Table Reservation - Claire

Claire was sorely missed, I missed her most of all! But I went through with @jasperdick to support him and the other musicians, mingle and you know... I am THAT Hive guy.

Matt Roux opens the stage

Matt is always a treat to watch on the stage. He has stage presence and confidence, he communicates readily and openly with the audience and obviously handles his guitar like a pro.

A proud father of the skilled Dan Roux, the young man joined his dad on stage with his electric guitar magic! I am still waiting on pics from the other phone.

Buhle and Brian

Buhle and Brian were a phenomenal duo. Folksy guitar and folksy singing. I should upload some videos on 3Speak.

Really, this girl has got a great voice, stay tuned for that one!

Andy Lund was the guest of honor, a professional musician with immense talent, stage presence and a great sense of being relatable. The man is down to earth and funny and was immensely entertaining!

The Loadshedding Menu

Due to all the power shortages, restaurants that are clever, make a plan. Here the Salt and Sage shows this great common sense by giving us me us for when the power is out!

Instead of the waitress having to tell us that we cannot order this or that, here is an entire menu that the restaurant can provide to us using their alternative power and/or cooking methods to keep serving food!

Burger Selection!

Last time I was here, I had the "Flipping the Bird" burger. I selected that Bacon Jam burger this time.

Bacon Jam Burger!

Just look at that beast! The burger patty on these things are huge! The bacon jam is like a savory topping that goes very well with that mature cheddar. Add to that the poached egg and you have a burger that is so much protien that the bun is just there as an aftertought!

It was amazing!

Now I need to try theDrunken Fig burger next time! Hmmmm!
